That was so cool what they did with the fake snow/ice and the animals with the lights.

I have always loved watching the Olympic opening ceremonies. The parade of nations is always my favorite part. I feel so sad for the young Georgian athlete who died today and it brought tears to my eyes when the audience gave the athletes from Georgia a standing ovation. Canada has done a wonderful job with the ceremonies this year.

I watched most of it and my favorite part was the First Nations introduction. I love their adornments; it's so great to see a nationality being embraced in that manner.
Everything was so beautiful and so artistic. It embraced beauty, nature and togetherness... something that's lost in the world today.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

Anybody but me think the cauldron (s) which hold the Olympic flame look like they could have been recycled from the first 'Superman" movie???
I love anything having to do with the Olympics, and will be a very happy camper the next two weeks!!

I wanted to watch it, but since we don't have any tv channels to watch (we don't have cable or reg tv) I had to try to get it online - but no where played it online to watch...
hope everyone else enjoyed it though!

Some how I managed to fall asleep watching it. Woke up around 12:30 and it was still going on.

Saw about half last night and finished it this AM (yay TiVo!). Great ceremony - pity about the little glitch though. I LIKE the cauldron.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I got a little tense at the end waiting for that cauldron to appear, glad at least some of it popped up.
I loved the rest of the show, except when the girl at the beginning replaced our national anthem with some 1/2 hour long pop song.

I have never had an interest in the Olympics. I honestly did not even know it was coming on. I doubt any of us will watch any of it. Just not our cup of tea.
My mom was near giddy about it and said it was wonderful though.DD (19)
