Today I.........
got out of the house again. We decided to venture to a city about two hours from us to let dd shop for prom dresses. All the stores told me they were packed with dress shoppers and getting low on their supply(and boy were they right). So off we went today. We went to a bridal shop first where dd fell in love with a dress. This dress was MADE for her. It fits her perfectly and she just looks beautiful in it. But I made her go on to a bigger bridal store and then to the mall and look around before buying. She decided she wanted the first one so we got it.
Dh gets 150.00 of free shoes/workboots/socks from work but he has to go to a big shoe store in this city to get them. He got a pair of steel toed tennis shoes and a pair of steel toed work boots and 30 pairs of socks......FREE!
Then we stopped by my inlaws to borrow the old photo albums. I want to scan some of their wedding pictures and pictures of dh when he was little, etc. so the kids can have them in years to come if they want them. I'm hoping I can put them onto dvd's for them. I have to say that this makes me REALLY nervous. I keep thinking "what if something happens to her pictures"? I'm going to try to get them all scanned tomorrow so dh can take them back Monday LOL.
I'm also thinking that I might have an idea for MIL's birthday. Several of these albums are in bad shape. Not the pictures but the albums themselves. A couple are those old sticky sheet ones where you lift up the clear page and then stick the pictures to that sticky page? I'm thinking I might buy new albums and put her pictures in them. I will keep each album as she has it, not rearrange them or anything. I'm going to call SIL and see if she thinks MIL would care before I do it though.
The wind was up today and the road is starting to drift shut again. We are supposed to get snow Monday so I'm glad we got out for a nice day today!Last edited by WV_mom_of2; 02-13-2010 at 09:27 PM.

Sounds like a great way to chase the cabin fever away before the next round.
And wow! Free shoes and socks! I wish the library would do that. So much wear and tear on the old sandals walking up to the circ desk....Donna

I forgot to mention.......when we were checking out at the bridal store the consultant looked at dd and said "how are your grades?" I thought that was kind of an off the wall question to just ask a kid out of the blue. Dd told her straight A's and the consultant said "well then I'm giving you 10% off this dress!" I was shocked! It knocked 30.00 off the dress!

yay!! you got out!! so did we after hubby had to dig out the drifts with the bobcat for 2 days. Even had to have a friend of his bring us more diesel. he had to wade thru the drifts to the end of the lane to get it and then carry it back. is that a good man or what!?? so we had to get more and fill up the bobcat and then went again yesterday to fill up the containers again. whew. went to the bank ( cuz you know they won't care about a blizzard, they want paid), paid bills, hit the post office, went to Sam's club. Walmart was a income tax return/valentine's mad house! good grief! I just went to get a water refill LOL
glad your daughter found a nice dress. hope she has fun when the time comes

Glad you got out and had some fun. Congratulations on your daughter finding the dress of her dreams! And the first one out too!
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

We tried to go out to the Dollar General this morning to get some photo albums and had to wait until our farmer friend dug the paved road out with his tractor. The state is having a hard time keeping up with all the drifting I guess. Thank goodness for farmers!
Now comes the next round tomorrow. Someone said at least 4 more inches.......yippee!S
