Default Did anyone see the Olympic 5000 m skating on Sat?

Our guy - the gorgeous Sven Kramer - won a gold medal for Holland.

After winning he jumped over the fences and ran to his parents, sister and girlfriend.

There has been such a hype about him here.
Our hopes are very high and he knows it.
Everyone has been saying that HE was the one to bring home the medals.
Such a pressure for such a really nice young lad.

I don't know if you saw a blond haired family there with their 3 young girls - all kitted out in orange (as are all the Dutch folks there). Well that is our crown prince and his family - they are there to cheer on the team.
Also our prime minister was there watching and cheering the Dutch team on.

Lol, I was thinking of you when I watched, wondering if you were watching too. I know speed skating is so huge there.

It was so sweet when he ran up into the stands to his family. And he is definitely gorgeous isn't he.

That was so great that he won! It was reported here that all hopes were pinned to this young man and anything less than a medal would be a disappointment. I can't imagine the pressure he felt by that. Congratulations!

It's great that he won, because now Dutch people can have: cheaper health insurance, cheaper electricity, cheaper whatever. Many firms made the promise that if he won, and the time he made, would make for discounts on their services! (Sorry about the crooked English, I'm still in Dutch mode)
