What Did You Do For Valentine's Day?
A few days ago, I swiped 2 pr. of Dh's underwear & on one of them, using red fabric paint, put handprints on the butt. The other one I drew little pink glittery hearts all over the front. I manage to hide them while they dried out in the garage. Anyway, after they had dried, I folded them so they looked "normal" in his drawer. This Valentine's morning, he gets up to take a shower & grabs the one with the handprints & didn't notice them at first...when he finally felt the difference in texture of the fabric paint, he turned around to see what it was & had a good laugh...(all the time, pretending to still be asleep under the covers, I was snickering to myself).(He found the other pair later)..........He can't trust me now.lol.....a few months ago, I sewed the bottoms of his sweatpants closed, so that when he went to put them on, he couldn't get his feet through the holes.
Anyway...we had a great Valentine's day....we had a frugal breakfast date (McD's),...then we went shopping for deals at Walgreen's & Habor Freight Tools....came home and I made fudge for the kids instead of buying candy. Ds#1 is cooking dinner tonight for us(he's a great cook). After dinner Dh will probably go to the store - said he wasn't done w/ Valentine's yet.....uh-oh.....you know what they say about pay-backs?????lol.....I know he has something up his sleeve.

I let DH take a nap and did some more home renovation stuff in the kitchen. After he woke up, I made him lunch and went to the store. I picked up a bag of caramel Hershey Kisses, a checkered red gift bag (it was the least girly one I could find) and a card.
He laughed so hard when he saw the card. That made my day.
We're having some take-out because we usually have it, but breakfast was free this morning so we sort of broke even.
DH will be watching Legend of the Seeker while I try not to fall asleep. I've been up since 5am.

We were busy today! I gave DH a recharging stand, some fancy undies and a tie. He got me a few blouses. I think all but 1 of our items was on sale. Tomorrow we have our dinner. I found some rib eyes on sale. All 6 of us are going to eat for what the price of a meal for 1 would have been.

We went to date night at our church. They showed a movie called No Greater Love and had popcorn, candy and iced tea. They provided child care for those that needed it.
They have date nights quite often at our church.~~~

We exchanged our gifts & cards at 12am when SO got home from work. I gave him an engraved black stainless steel band & he gave me the collector's set of "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold & a cute beanie baby.
We woke up early to do laundry together and then met my grandparents at Fuddrucker's for an early lunch. Totally frugal b/c they treated us!
We went back to their house to visit for a bit and they also bought us small V-day gifts (a sweater & velour pants for me and a nice button-up shirt for SO).
Then SO & I came home and cleaned, cleaned, cleaned. It's been awhile since we DEEP cleaned our apartment.

DH worked, DD stayed home with my MIL while I splurged on President's Day sales at Joanns and Hancock Fabrics. They had Simplicity and Butterick patterns for a buck each!!! All the ones I bought were crafty/decorative, not clothing which I'm still a bit scared to sew. I bought some fun and funky Valentine's fabric on sale, 75% off and recovered two throw pillows for the sofa in DD's room. I've got enough to make a couple more. They are bright, happy, full of hearts and should look cheerful all year around.
DH did ask me earlier in the week if I wanted him to do anything special for Valentine's day. mind you, he is from China and totally not into western holidays, especially V-day. I guess enough colleagues reminded him that a lot of women think V-day is a huge deal, so I told him no, save his money because I don't really care about V-day either.

Spent my Valentine's Day in a car lol driving up to bf's place for the week. We had Quizno's for dinner - was sad b/c no veggies allowed on/in sub lol and then my other friend managed to get me some tix to see my fave band play the big hockey arena & backstage passes. BF thought he'd hate the concert but was impressed by the band
Overall - good time was had. Nothing fancy here.
