I'm so psyched!
DH and I as a part of our long-term kitchen overhaul decided that the first appliance we'd buy was a single dish drawer. For the past 15 years, ever since we bought this house, we've done the dishes by hand. The idea that I can simply load the thing with our dishes once a day and run them while I do something else has GREAT appeal!
We've put money aside, my job today is to move it to the credit card DH will use when he places the order. We've been waiting for the right price and there's a President's Day sale that works.
Yay!

I never heard of this. Is this a small version of a dishwasher? Where did you first see it?

Yes Pam, they're small dishwashers. You can look at Lowe's etc. for dishwasher, drawer, and find single and double ones. Since it's just DH and myself, a full-size dishwasher would take us days to fill and in the meantime, we'd be washing our utensils, silverware, by hand, so that isn't practical.
Unfortunately, they're expensive. You'd think it would be cheaper, but they aren't. I found out partly why that is true when I worked for Sears fixing washing machines years ago, Small appliances or combination appliances have to fit the same stuff in smaller spaces and that makes it harder to manufacture and service or design for servicing and long-term trouble free use.
Also, there aren't many brands and if you read the reviews, they're really confusing as it looks like the Kitchen Aid is made by Fisher and Pakel, and the Fisher and Pakel had a lot of service issues. Further research found that Kitchen Aid was now making their own later, and making them in the U.S.
What i really, really wanted was a commercial table top dishwasher, even used and reconditioned would have cost a bunch, and we'd have to change the plumbing, etc. and so it really wasn't practical, darn it!
We spent a lot of time researching what was available, what we wanted, how much we'd spend, etc. This has been a project for a couple of months now.

Those are really popular in Campers. I have seen them at lowes and wouldn't mind having one myself, although I would probably go with those drawer fridge's first.
Congratulations!!

Congratulations! Happy dishwashing!
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.
