Default how many bills do you pay...?

friends and i were chatting this weekend and the subject of bills came up and one friend said that she felt like all she did was write checks & transfer money every other day for all her bills...(she has ALOT...she says)..... so we got to counting actually how many bills we do pay each month.... and the numbers varied greatly (there were 6 of us discussing this)....

so i am wondering...how many bills do YOU pay each month.....

mtg's, utilties, phones, cable, internet, cc's, insurance, medical, car pmt's etc...(not counting savings, retirement, etc...) this is just bills you pay to another...and if it is something that is paid just once a year for convenience it still counts so break it down to 12 pmts... doesn't matter how it is paid...check, cash, transfers, auto withdrawals....

we figured that we pay 13 in all....(i am not including what our business pays that would take forever to list)....i am just talking 'personal' bills....

    mortgage (rent)
    (2) utilities--primary home (all come on 1 bill) & cabin (1 bill)
    cable/internet (1 bill)
cc (but only some months'..others it's zero balance)
    (5) insurances (prim home, cabin, health, car, umbrella)(pd 1x a yr)
country club membership fee (pd 1x a yr)
assessment fee for the cabin (pd 1x a yr)
property taxes for our cabin (pd 1x a yr)

we have finally eliminated all the cc's we were paying on thru the years....weeee....we have no store or gas cards and we have no car pmts, or boats, rv's or anything fun really....we try to pay cash for anything that would otherwise work out to a 'payment'.....our cell phones are paid by our companies as dh's gas card....so at the present time this is what it looks like....(i think i got it all)....

“After the last tree has been cut down, after the last river has been poisoned, after the last fish has been caught.
Only then will you find that money can't be eaten.”

    Does "too many" mean anything?

    monthly:
    mortgage
    truck
    car ins
    Heloc
    CC ( paid off monthly)
    elec
    ADT
    cell phones
    DirecTV
Vet bill - I add this because with 3 dogs it seems we are always going. (even if I think it is unnecessary)

    annuals:
    propane
    internet
    homeowners ins
taxes and more taxes (property tax 2 times /year)

A benefit of getting out of debt is not having so many monthly bills.

    We have:

    cell phone
    house phone
    electricity
    gas
    water/sewer/trash combined on one bill
    HOA
Netflix (is auto drafted on my !gasp! credit card that gets paid off every month.

No actual credit card bill, it's with my credit union and I just transfer the money to pay it off every time I use it

    gym bill (is auto drafted)

no mortgage, rent, or car payments.
We still don't have cable but I love my Netflix

    once a year: homeowners insurance
    once a year: umbrella insurance
    once a year car # 1 registration
    once a year car # 2 registration
once a year: property tax (could pay quarterly but they don't send reminders to I like to just get it out of the way and not worry about missing a payment)

    twice a year: auto insurance

cable internet is paid by employer, if/when I 'retire' later this year, that will get added to the monthly pile.

Hmm. Actual BILLS - not sinking funds? Ok...

Mortgage includes Taxes and Homeowners insurance
    Life insurance
    Car registration
    Auto insurance
    Personal liability umbrella
Rental mortgage includes taxes and insurance
    Gas/Electric
    Phone (2 lines)
    Cell phones
TiVo *4 (mom in law we pay 2)
Netflix *2 (mom in law we pay 1)
    Audible.com
    Cable/Internet

There might be more - all but life ins. car registration and the umbrella policy are on autopilot...
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

    Monthly:
Rent/water - combined in single bill
    Electric
    Phone
    Internet
    CC - all daily purchases

    By payroll deduction, monthly:
    Health insurance
    Dental insurance
    Disability insurance

Paid once or twice a year:
    Car insurance
    Renters insurance

Phone and electric are autopay, so the only ones I have to actually make an effort to pay every month are rent/water, the CC, and the credit union CC that get the internet charge as a way to keep it active.
