Talking Ahhh, DD gets her braces on tomorrow!

Well the snow has cancelled school here for over a week now. I am not complaining about tomorrow because dd has been sick alot this year and doesnt need to miss class so a snow day is a great day to get braces on. She says she is so super excited......I will remind her of that tomorrow night when she has to drink her dinner because her teeth hurt!

Oh yeah i remember when i was so excited about those braces. By tomorrow night. She will want them off.The fronts are not so bad its the back ones that freaking hurt, Nothing like walking around with wax in your mouth to prevent the wires poking a hole in your cheek. Her teeth will be nice and straight after a year or so!!! Glad she is on snow days!

Drinking through a straw will probably hurt. My kids had pudding and jello for a night or two. Soft foods are her friend. lol

We are saving for the youngest's braces now.

I remember that. My daughter gets hers off this June as it will be two years. Dang, that was 5k bucks that insurance didn't cover.

She likes going every month to change the colors of her bands. lol.

I was so excited to get my braces at age 12 I insisted on going back to school after my appointment!

It's really the gums that hurt. I remember my dad soaked gauze in rum and had me tuck it in my gums to numb them. I thought he was trying to kill me it tasted so bad! He never had to worry about me drinking in high school!

Ill be thinking of your DD tonight, hope it doesn't ache too much. I still remember that pain.

Check with your orthodontist. I still wear my retainers a couple night a week and DC#1 still wears them nightly. Your teeth shift for the rest of your life. Although, your DS could be lucky and not have much movement. I was not so lucky! I had braces twice.

My son has to get 4 baby teeth and 4 adult teeth pulled before he can get braces on. Our insurance will only cover up to 425.00. Thanks goodness the ortho has a payment plan. Looks like we will be tightening our purse strings.
