I saw Food Inc. also and needless to say, we think twice before eating out. DF's niece also works for a chicken chain called Pollo Loco...we WILL NOT be ordering from there. She tells us stories & stories from friends who work at Mc D's, BKs, etc. ICK!!!! You're not even safe with fries or a milk shake!!!

Provide me with a case of Canadian companies willingly poisoning meat and then we'll talk.

This is different. E Coli is something that's bacterial in nature and can occur before the meat is processed. Putting ammonia in meat to prevent it is a company willingly putting a dangerous chemical into consumed meat.

These are two completely different types of events.

There wouldn't BE so much e.coli if the cows were allowed to eat grass and hay instead of being forced to eat CORN which they were never meant to eat! Corn causes a much larger amount of e.coli to be present in meat...add to that the amount of manure these animals stand around in at the feedlot...definitly not sanitary conditions.

I love meat too much to ever be a vegetarian, but natural, grass fed meat is the way to go! Plus Id rather support local than big agri-corps anyway.

Most people are vegetarian for ethical reasons.

Palooka - Your ethics and the producer's ethics may not be at the same level. That's why I said "NOBODY knows what they are eating unless they have full control over its production." And made reference to the movie Soylent Green.
