    Default coupons and cashiers

do you ever learn NOT to go to certain cashiers at stores..??

argh!..not really mad or anything but i wont use the cashier i had today again...she physically read every coupon..and asked me questions about everyone..she did find one out of date that i was really dissappointed about..and one that said must have two and i dont mind seeing my errors..but i perfer them to quickly scan them and if one comes ups with a question that lets take a look..dont read every coupon when i had you 60.00 especially when there are people in line...im tellin ya she took 10 minutes on it...=)

but my total went from 131.00 to $55.00 so to me it was worth the wait...

do you ever see someone looking at an item you have a coupon for and give it to them? i do..i saw a couple getting a basket of progresso soups which i really dont like but i have 10+ coupons for .50 off 2 and today the coupons were doubled..and the soups were on sale for like 1.50..so i asked the guy if he wanted them and and he says "they are already on sale"..i laughed and said i know but now you get to save even more and his wife was so appreciative..it felt good...i like doing that.

I've never been able to give them directly to someone, mainly because I only carry what I plan on using. But if I don't use them, I like to leave them next to the product.

You are so organized - Love it!!

Yes there are certain cashiers that I will not use - mainly because of attitude. I figure it's my money and I can get service from whomever I choose.

That was very thoughtful of you giving them the coupons. I sure wish that we were able to do that. There is no such things as double coupons where I live.

Luckily, I don't avoid certain cashiers. It's not the cashiers, it's the lack of training provided to them combined with poor register programming on the back end. Formula checks and "free" coupons are THE WORST. Throw in a few catalina OYNO's & baby program certificate redemption and that's a recipe for disaster.

I occasionally whip out a coupon if I get to talking on the baby aisle. I don't carry my entire binder with me but have an accordion file in my purse at all times with mostly all of my store & brand-specific baby coupons. You never know where you will be and when and wish you had your coupon.

I do avoid certain days and times, however. There tend to be some unsavory shoppers in my neck of the woods.

I just fininshed my binder. And yes i delight in giving 1 to people sometimes as long as they are not rudely grubbing. I like to trade w/ people online. i now have about a years worth of most hygiene items, laundry soap etc. We give a cart full to charity a month. I thought people were thinking I was goofy but when they approach me they are admiring the binder. I alway give advice and direction to others if i have time. Goodwill is contagious. That said:Keep your paws off the binder people.!!!!

I have 6 5shelf units of canned goods and dry goods. With this economy ...

Over the years, I have pared down my stockpiling to only items/brands we will actually use. It's real easy to get caught up when first starting out with the "because it was free" or "it was part of a deal". Nothing is worse than throwing expired food out.

What's expired food? I have 2 teen who bring other teens. In the summer parties just break out at the house. Several 2L and packs of hot dogs and bags of chips disappear. Canned corn and sardines are needed for bait and of course snacks at the beach or lake.
I love it. My kids play guitar here and have fires in the rusty pit. I even bought a screen last year to project movies from the computer on. They make chili on the bbq grill. A couple year ago a tent was up all summer w/ kids all weekend. Once they leave home my pantry will be very much smaller but for now -consume mass quantities.

    And for the original questions-YES
A certain Red head at my fav. store is so moody. She told me if i took the catalina coupons from the self checkout I was using from the customer before I was STEALING. ID 10 T. She is also so lazy I total my coupons before I give them to her because i can't trust her to do them all.

There is definitely one cashier that I like to avoid when I go to Walmart. She has even left me standing at the cash without saying she was going anywhere to ask the customer service manager about some coupons I was using. UGH

Also I also have given coupons to people when I see them getting something that I have a coupon for, and I have also left coupons next to the item.

I Carry all my coupons with me when I got shopping, they all fit neatly in 2 accordian folders, they are small ones and both fit in my purse.

I like to do this because there have been many times that something has been on clearance and i have gotten it for free or next to free.

Yep carry all mine too. Lately some of the best mother/DD bonding moment have happened over nail sets and lipstick found in the clearance and bought w/ a coupon. It's so nice to say YES when your kids are adults and could move out soon.

There is a certain cashier at my Publix, Chasity, that I go through heck and high water to avoid. She reads every single coupon word for word and she is a very slow reader. Then she goes through each and every item to make sure it is the right size, style, etc...She will pick up the cereal, look at the ounces; pick up the coffee and make sure it is the right brand; and on and on and on.

I am very thorough with my coupons and it is rare that I misread one. Between DH and I we both check the coupons as we shop just to avoid making a mistake with one. However, every time she tries to tell me I have one wrong. I then have to show her that she is the one making a mistake. Every time I have ever seen her deal with coupons she has always tried to tell the customer at least one was not right. And every time she has been the making the mistake. It is extremely annoying and time consuming. I have given serious thought to making a complaint to their home office about her. She really has no business on a cash register.

Yep a lady the worls for schnucks. When i started couponing around 10 years ago i had this old hag. She was mean hatefull snotty, you name it. It was in a month Febuary, my divorce was final, we were getting ready for a snow storm.. They were short handed that day..I gave her the stack of coupons at least 150 of them, double coupon days. My total was like $375 after 30 minutes growning, 1 exsp coupon 1coupon u had to booze,(fine print) going through each thing on the reciept finally got done, i payed $ 125.00 ,,I keeot saying i was sorry to the people behind me, but i did warn them i had lots of coupons.. The checker had the nerve to tell me not to ever get in her line again.Oh i was hot and went straight to office and complained. Fast forward to last month, SHE IS STILL THERE. i made the mistake of getting in her line again.. After 10 minutes of unloading, i asked her if she made sure she looked at every item that was scanned since i had a coupon for every item. because if there was a problem i would leave it all here for her to put away and i will go to krogers. No problems this time..

If it was me, I wouldn't hesitate to talk to someone at Corporate. Publix has always earned, and boasted of their reputation on their "better than the others" customer service. I'm sure they'd love to know, and I think it'll be a 'shoe-in' that something gets mentioned to her. And rightfully so, I might add! And if you don't like doing it over the phone, go to the site and e-mail them.

    Hoping the best for you!
