Introduction
Hi everyone,
I am pleased to have found this forum! I finally have a good job, but I have significant credit card debt from the 2 years that I wasn't steadily employed, as well as student loans to pay off, so I am looking for ways to cut my monthly expenses.
Generally, I already have pretty frugal habits. I do a large shopping once a month. I very rarely eat prepared foods, make my own granola and yogurt, prepare meals in advance, and rarely eat meat as a main course. I still end up spending about $200/month on groceries (including sundries like paper towels, soap, laundry detergent, etc).
I am starting to use coupons that I can print off online, but there aren't many coupons for the types of items I use most, and I find it almost impossible to find coupons on items like laundry detergent, which I find very expensive. (Is it just me or has the cost of laundry detergent doubled in the past year?)
I am hoping to learn a lot from all of you about ways that I can prune my budget back so that I can get those *&*%^* credit cards paid off!!
Best,
Sheila

So nice to meet you Sheila and welcome to FV. You may want to look into making your own laundry soap. There are threads here that will tell you how. I started about 6 months ago and will never buy it again.
