Default Lookie what I made :) Earring and Broach Holder

Project cost me $2.12 for the burlap that I used. The rest of the items I had laying around.

I was having trouble finding my earrings because they were always bunched together. Hopefully with this I'll wear something other then the same pair everyday because I don't want to search for a new pair

The idea came from something I saw (I think it was on this site). Someone had taken an old window frame I think and hooked mesh to it for this purpose. They propped the frame up on a wall. I didn't have any window frames but did have picture frames. The trouble was the leg that holds the frame up was on the back piece which would not have allowed the mesh (or burlap in the case) to be accessible from both sides to put on and remove the earrings. It was then that it occured to me that I had that frame just hanging around and it was held up by two rods on the bottom, leaving the front and back open. It was just too substantial to get rid of, if that makes sense, so it had just been hanging out in my bedroom.
I hooked the burlap on with upholstery tacks that I've had for a while from a purse making venture (I made ones with wooden bottoms).

~Great re-purposing project! Looks really nice! I have a full length mirror sized jewelry cabinet and I just love seeing all my pretties displayed and not all jumbled up.~

Very pretty....and useful! I also like the way you use your antique Mason jars to hold things. I have one and it is only on top of my kitchen cupboards, doing nothing. I should put some stuff in it.

I use my Mason Jars to hold all sorts of things. I put broken Jewelry in them (I like to make new Jewelry out of old broken pieces), buttons, coins etc... They just look so pretty sitting there, especially when the light shines through them.
