Where Do You Mainly Eat Your Meals?

Just wondered where everyone eats their meals in their home? I mean we all have a kitchen to prep/cook our meals in but does everyone have an eat in kitchen? Do they eat in the dining room? Do they use their dining room as a dumping spot? Do you eat in front of the tv or while standing at the counter?

We (my dad and I) use our kitchen as grand central, that's where we go to communicate. We leave notes on the counter for each other there, mail, check the answering machine and we generally congregate there while the other is cooking. My dad uses the kitchen table as his 'office' but we both eat our meals in front of our tv's. The very odd time at the kitchen table.

Just curious to see who eats where in their home?

I don't even LIKE sitting in front of my TV and eating. Popcorn ---yes..........dinner? no!

Growing up we weren't ALLOWED to eat in the LR........guess it carries over!

We only have a kitchen table, so most of our meals are there. Once a week we have finger foods and will watch a movie and eat dinner. The kids think it's great to have a picnic and watch a movie

We eat in the dining room. We don't have a dinette in the kitchen. Just a dining table in the dining room.

I usually eat in front of the computer, playing something like untimed Bookworm that doesn't require lots of hand on mouse time, or at my worktable with a book.

When we bought the house, we took out the wall between the kitchen/dining room, so it's one long room. So, I chose dining room, but the answer is really kinda both.

That being said, we eat every meal, as a family, at that table. Poor table has held up well for 11 years of usage!

Most meals are in the kitchen but we also eat in the dining room. Food in the living room is a big no no.

When the kids lived at home we ate every single meal at the kitchen table (or dining room table depending on where we were living at the time).

If we have something messy we eat sitting at the kitchen island. If not, we eat in front of the TV

Since it's just DH and me, I don't have a problem with it.

Our kitchen is to small to eat in and we don't have a dining room so we eat in front of the tv by default I guess. There is only the lining room or bedrooms. At least in the living room we eat on tv trays all together and we always have a good conversation about our day .

We eat at the coffee table in the living room. It is a good substitute ever since my kitchen table fell apart in the last move. It was unfixable and I refuse to buy a table just to move again and have a brand new one break. So, once we move I will buy a new one, since I will be owning the house and not moving again any time soon.

We live in a mobile home and our kitchen, dining room, and living room are one big area so I said dining room also since the eating area is divided from the living area by a support column. When I was growing up our fiamily ate every meal at the kitchen table and the tv was turned off. DH and I sometimes eat in our lounge chairs and watch tv depending on how late we eat and what we are eating.

Since we changed from our dining table to a smaller taller table with stools - we have been eating all our meals in the living room. Don't like it much, but cannot afford to change tables again.

We ALWAYS eat dinner in the dining room at the table. The ONLY time there is a variance is during holidays when there isn't enough table space...then the kids eat on the floor picnic style in the living room.

At kitchen table, if it's only hubby and me at the kitchen island.

We (dh and I) usually eat at the kitchen island. We have a large kitchen bay with table/6 chairs, if it's more than just us. And a full dining room table/6 chairs if we want to do more....
Dh travels a lot, so I usually eat wherever I happen to be when hunger strikes!
