Hung my clothes on the line (outside) this morning..
I know I might be a little
besides freezing my A$$ off..but I get such a great high from hanging my clothes on the line
add in watching the wind do their magic of whipping them so they are wrinkle free and smell air fresh...

I remember as a kid my mom hanging them out and bringing them in frozen. As soon as she got a dryer that never happened again tho.My mom and dad were both electricity wasters from growing up in the depression. They loved modern appliances and 100 watt light bulbs.

I think it has to do with the old school mentality that its not 'fresh & clean' unless its been outside air dried...plus the sun (or what lil of it you'd get in winter) sterilizes as well?
My mom was like that too. My dad bought our dryer 44 yrs ago - the one that just died - for my mom to dry my bro's diapers. He'd go through them faster then she could air dry them LOL.2012: The Year Of The Purge!

I''ll use the metal rack in the second bathroom tub, thanks

Years ago, when growing up on the dairy farm, mom made us hang clothes outside almost year round. When the clothes were brought in frozen solid, she would finally take pity on us, and let us hang them upstairs in the old farm house. We also had a few smaller racks downstairs.--------My signature--------

Am looking forward to putting drying racks outside. We are not supposed to do this but the less clutter in the apartment the better.

Ooooh, I LOVE it! I am going to start hanging as soon as I can reach my clothesline through the 3 feet of snow that is now left!

Before we put lines in the basement (thank you dear hubby), 22°F was the coldest I'd hung clothing out. I have arthritis in my fingers, so even with gloves it was not the most pleasant task.
My sister-in-law was telling me shortly after she had twins (and had two other very young children), it snowed so much her husband had to dig out space under the clothes line so they could hang out the enormous amount of diapers the new babies and the next oldest toddler were going through. She said how difficult it was to dry the sheets that were flapping on the snow.
My mother-in-law had 8 children and never had a clothes dryer until we gave her one, many years after the last kid had left home.

I can't wait to start hanging out laundry again. I am not as brave as most to go out and freeze. I will wait until the high 60 and 70 degree weather first.

I also put my clothes out when I can and it aint too cold or too much snow around the area.
When its only -10c or above and no snow I do ,and love airing out my big afghans and just extra blankets to smell fresh again.
winter here is so mixed up one minute rain , next freezing rain then snow all in the same day. So Cant wait till spring too DC.

I love hanging my laundry out on the line. It makes me very happy to see the electric bill when I do so.
Down here, I can hang clothes out all year long. I love the smell of the fresh air and sunshine in the clothes.Hello from Sunny Central Florida

I would love to hang clothes out but we all know the issues we have with lady next door and feral cats. They mark and spray anything that moves. So don't want my clothes smelling like cat pee.Bad enough the freaking cats spray everything else. She does more harm then good. But yes i love clothes fresh from the like if this wasnt a issue. I would save around $30 a month... Stepping of soap box!!

I'm not fond of line-dried undies, clothes or towels... but I love the air-dried sheets and blankets. Smells so fresh and natural.
