Default How can someone I don't know make me so distraught.

    Layla Grace

She is spending her last days on Earth with her mommy and daddy. Not eating, drinking, singing, laughing, or even crying... She's being held by her parents savoring every last drop of her life and her time. I am so upset over this. I feel like I could puke. =/

She's 22 months old. She barely got to live. Life seems so unfair.

I hope the link isn't inappropriate, but I just had to talk about it and get it out.

    Thanks.

I just read a huge part...agree, extremely sad. Don't know what else to say. There's nothing to say that will help.

Because her story gives us a different perspective on our own lives and families. Unfortunately, it's a sad one.

In all my 30+ years of working and hearing literally thousands of people's life stories...there is nothing so traumatic as a death of a child....and there is nothing anyone can say or do to ease their pain.... these people are taking the worst that life can give them and trying to make something positive out of it...God bless them.....

Wow! Layla Grace's story is getting around. I discovered her last week and have fallen in love! She's a beautiful baby! I have been praying multiple times a day for her and checking her tweets and blog over and over every day for more news. I was so hoping that her family would get a miracle, but it doesn't look like it's coming...so sad.

I really don't know what to say, very sad story. Like her parents have expressed that her passing be merciful.

It makes me very sad also. Our neice (ex-dh's sister's baby) was killed in a tragic accident. She was backed over by a truck. She was only 15months old. It still hurts. Our son is only 30 days younger than her. Every time he has a birthday I think of her. She would have been 10 in 10 days from today if she hadn't died. The only comfort I get is knowing that she didn't suffer because it happened so fast. It is really sad seeing kids suffer.

You don't have to know someone to be moved by their story. Stories like these teach us lessons, but also remind us of what is truly important in life. My heart breaks for the family of Layla Grace and every other family who has to face such a tragic loss.

maybe the awareness of the disease and the unity of the people all over the world ...is the miracle..... it's just not the miracle they were praying for.... we don't always get what we pray for...but we do get strength.....and the strength that these people are showing is unbelieveable

We relate to stories of people we don't know because empathy and compassion are deeply human traits, a couple of our better ones. When we encounter individuals devoid of them is when we lock the doors and hide in the closets.

It is painful to share in a grief we cannot help, but a blessing to be able to do so.

That is so sad. Nothing more can be said other than my thoughts and prayers are with them all at this time.

I feel so bad for that poor family. A tragedy. I know they will savor each moment with her. I hope she passes in peace.

I too have been following Maggie's story since the beginning when Mom mentioned it here on FV. Prayers are said daily for her and now Layla will be added.

((((hugs)))) Death knows no age and the fact that death is coming for a child is what makes it the hardest to handle. We are touched by stories like this because it helps to make us realize how precious life is and it makes us realize like I said above that death knows no age.
