Default My dog broke my computer!

My crazy boxer, Petey, knocked my MacBook off my ds bed and cracked the screen. Boy was I hot! I tell my son all the time, do not take my computer downstairs unless you are going to bring it back upstairs when you are done. Does he do it, no. What happened this time, my MacBook broke.

Radio Shack has a cord that goes from our Dell TV to my computer so it is still usable. It just defeats the purpose of having a MacBook.

When my MacBook is replaced, my ds will not be able to touch it. I am mad at myself for allowing him to keep using it and not taking proper care of it.

    NOOOOOO!!! NOT THE MAC!!!!!

Very sorry to hear this. I'm a macbook owner as well.

Maybe an "upstairs only" rule after its repaired. Instead of taking it away completely. Could also do an, "upstairs AT the TABLE" rule. I had to do this with my teen for awhile because she was leaving it precariously near the sofa edge when she'd jump up to go get something. (drink, snack, coming right back) She hated the "at the table" rule and now it is an "on the coffee table" rule. She has graduated to that after months of "at the table" and its working well. She can have it on her lap on the sofa but cannot leave it on the sofa if she gets up, it has to be moved to the coffee table. This prevents the risk of someone sitting on it or the dogs jumping up on the sofa onto it.

    That does suck.

Yah, I suck at this money stuff, I know. That's why I'm here.

Sorry to hear about your macbook but glad its just a 'thing' that got hurt/broken vs someone. It is repairable/replaceable...a human isn't. But yeah, I'd be livid too.

Did you check with your homeowners insurance to see if this is covered? I had a friend who's dog chewed her hearing aid and the insurance covered it. Worth a call....

I'd suggest looking into just replacing the screen, but I've heard Mac parts are very expensive to replace in general, so you might just want to check and see how much it costs vs. getting a new one.

Wink Sounds like time for him to tap into his savings...

I was going to console you thinking this was the irresponsibility of a young child. With three DSs at home it sounded too familiar.

However, if this happened when one of my DSs was 18, they would be paying for it....
