Yikes! I Think I Went Overboard with Hair Colour
I decided to get someone else to dye my hair and add hilights today. I really like the cut but I think I went overboard with the hilights.
Normally, my haircolour is a dark redish brown and I wanted a change. I went for blonde hilights and boy, there are ALOT of them! It's even more noticable now that my hair is dry.
I think I might have made a mistake...an expensive one. I dunno...Do you think it's just because it's different that I feel this way? Do I just need to chill and get used to it?
The cut is short layers, btw. It really shows off the blonde and almost looks like she put blonde on the ends. At least my grey hair is gone LOL

The good news is that the highlights will fade out (about 25%) or so in a couple of weeks of daily washings. If it's still too much you can always go to the beauty supply store and buy a rinse to put on it to tone it down......(ask a clerk for advice on what color rinse). HTH

Maybe it just feels wrong because it's something new. Everytime I get a different, "new" haircut I feel bad for about a week and keep asking people if it looks bad. But after a short time I realize I was just getting used to it.

If you kids don't mind it, it's fine. That's my rule of thumb on haircuts.

Wish I could see a picture. Agree with the advice to give it some time. let us know how you feel in 7-10 days - who knows, you may love it by then!!

I am sure it is fine...just a big change for you that's all. Enjoy being grey free! It might even take longer for the grey to come back.

I know exactly how you feel, I have've had this a few times too.
Firstly, it takes a little time to get used to it and secondly, and this is the biggie for me, when your grey hair grows back, the grey isn't as noticeable.
This has actually been one of the reasons that I have done the blond highlights many times.
If you can't used to it, then the next time you can ask for highlights that are just slightly lighter than your own hair color, that's what I do a lot of the time.*Avril*

It always took me a few days for my highlights to settle in. The first day I always panicked. I say give it a few days before making a decision.

I think everyone has had a shocking hair cut or color at one time or another. Thankfully it will grow out/fade in a short time.

I remember doing highlights once and thinking WOW! this is soooo different. I didn't like it at all, at first.
After about a month, I was thinking that it wasn't ENOUGH highlights. That's how quickly it grows on you.______
