What did I win? A six pack? More gardening tools?

    Thank you!

The peeling sucks. I've done it once and the tomatoes were not cooled and I burnt my fingers.

    Congratulations! A good choice.

Any extra tomatoes can be over-nighted to me. I don't do salsa, so it will save you the grief of peeling them.

As our deserving King of the FV, I believe nothing less than every man's idea of a perfect "seven course" meal is in order here. And that of course would be what else?, but a six-pack m: and a pizza

Enjoy your week of fame along with your pizza and beer (that was not necessarily listed in order)

    Good job Russ

    Way to go Russ!!!

....as for the tomatoes....forget the salsa, get an old metal grinder from a yardsale or a flea market and make some sauce. Nobody ever has enough homemade pasta sauce. ....Technically you can just throw them in the blender before cooking them down to sauce and the skin will just become part of it. The grinder just doesn't let the skin or the SEEDS through. I'm ok with seeds in my sauce. My grandmother was not.

Congrats Russ! Have a great week being the king!

Only 20 tomato plants? I plant 50 every year and still seem to run out of canned tomatoes before the next summer! I'm going to make salsa this year too!

    thank you all.

    50 tomato plants Sherri?? OMG.

We will probably plant at least 10 Roma's and they produce a LOT of fruit. We have found them to be the best for salsa because they are more meaty than juicy.

I plant 50 Roma plants for canning and then I also usually plant 4-6 of some kind of slicing tomato. I use alot of home canned crushed tomatoes in chili and veggie soup. And my family loves my home canned salsa! I actually love to can tomatoes LOL.
