Default Hello to Frugal Villagers from a Scot living in the Canary Islands

    Hello to everyone

I came across this forum while doing a search to find out if pinto beans are toxic and, being Scottish-born, being frugal is of natural interest to me.

I live in the Canary Islands, just off the west coast of Africa, and have done for 8 years now although I spent a large part of my childhood in Canada.

No kids but have 2 cats and a new addition of a little abandoned kitten, that is a story for another day, who is approx 12 weeks old.

I am a moderator on a 'travel' forum and, once I have familiarised myself with Frugal Village, I hope to be able to actively contribute a few words of wisdom, although I'll try and keep my Scottish accent not too broad

No, not a Glaswegian (or Weegie if local) accent, I'm from the other side, the East coast. My accent is still Scottish but not too strong after 8 years of living here as I need the locals and, predominantly, English ex-pats to understand me.

Okay........I had a little trouble with all of them! Aberdeen? Perth? Dundee? Met some wonderful people from these towns while there.

Edinburgh is not exactly east coast but a neat town........if you EVER catch it when it isn't raining!

My all time favorite is probably Oban; but because I spent a couple months there....off and on.........but now I am back on the west side.

Did you have to to to the Canary Islands to dry out??? From the RAIN.....not from your WONDERFUL hard apple cider!!
