I am SOOOOOOOOOO sick of snow!!!!!!
I just want to whine.
It snowed ANOTHER 8 inches last night...it's STILL snowing...we're supposed to get another 3-6 inches by midnight...and more tomorrow. (And this has already been a heavier snow year for us than we've had in quite a while).
Now I have to go shovel...MORE... And it's getting bad enough I think I'm gonna have to crawl up on top of my dad's garage and shovel it before the roof falls in (he's 78).
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least this will be nice for the start of the Iditarod.
I wanna live in the lower 48!!!!!!!!
Ok, done whining. Thanks for listening...Kace - married to Dh 12 years

So sorry!I would have a hard time living in Alaska. I have issues just dealing with the snow from Dec. to March.Would love to a warmer state!! I hope your snow ends soon and you will have nicer days!

I have a friend of mine who just moved to Anchorage from Phoenix. He says he loves it there. I think he's either delusional because of the snow, or he's just saying that because it's too cold to complain about it otherwise.

I would definately be going bonkers living in Alaska.
On a side note, did you ever go on a vacation?

I'd pack up some of our sunshine and mail it to you if I could! Hang in there!

Well, my vote is for delusional.
hahahaha If you're super-outdoorsy this is THE place to be. But, since I'm not...and I love sunshine, trees, grass, and warm weather... Yeah, I'm hatin' it right now. Of course, it may all still be "new" to him...in which case it'll have that "last frontier adventure" feel. After he makes it through 5 hard winters and we all 'accept' him as a 'real' Alaskan (local custom), we'll see if he still likes it.
hehehe
Of course the TWO HOURS AND TWENTY MINUTES I just spent shoveling doesn't exactly make me love this oh-so much more.
I am just this side of bonkers!!
No, we never did get to go on a vacation...we decided to be not spend the $$.
I know, it's better...but it would have been SO great to get out of here...even if only for a couple weeks! We're planning to escape in December for 2 weeks.
And to top off this delightful winter day...where we started with blizzard warnings and have been cut off from a neighboring town due to TWO avalanches (no, I'm not kidding)...
We dropped our car off today to have a repair done we've been planning/budgeting for...was supposed to be about $225. They found out that that problem was worse than expected and found another thing wrong. ARGH!! Now the bill will be appx $800!!!!
(We know our mechanic...so at least I don't have trust issues in this department).
I SOOOOOOOOOO do not need Murphy today!!!

It's been beautiful here for the last few days. Rain is on the way with maybe a few flakes mixed in but otherwise in the high 40's low 50's. I am so glad to see the sun. I had my doubts we woudl ever see anything but snow again.

Ugh! I'm sick of snow, too. I can completely sympathize.
It finally started raining a little this week, for the first time since before Christmas. We've had so much snow, and it's just crazy since we usually get almost no snow at all.
Our neighbors were hauling their snow away in a trailer the other day, which seems like a smart thing to do. When the snow in our garden starts melting, I know we're going to have a huge, swampy flood. But Dh had shoulder surgery, and he's not allowed to do much for a couple more months yet, and I'm not well enough to do more than a bit of shovelling, so our snow just sits here.
