Default Put on your thinking caps please.......

Ok I need fun ideas for dd's graduation/18th birthday party. An activity of some type that would be fun for all ages and maybe would result in a really great memory for her or even a keepsake of some type.

I thought of hiring a professional photographer to come and take casual shots during the party and to also set up a station to take "photo booth" type goofy shots. Or maybe just get a friend of mine to do it. Then make dd a scrapbook of the pics.

    HELP! Need ideas!

That is sort of like what we have done for DD and DS in the past. We have had a "normal" party with friends, food and music. Had a friend who is an amateur photographer take pics of each guest with DD or DS as they arrived. Then she took shots throughout the festivities.

Another thing we have done is to make a DVD of DD/DS and had it playing throughout the event.

After all was said and done, we made another DVD from the pictures of the party and sent a copy to each guest. Also, when DD/DS sent the thank you cards out, a copy of the picture that was taken when that particular guest first arrived was included. Sometimes we bought blank cards and attached the photo to the front of each person's card - scrapbook style.

We also have had each guest make a scrapbook page. Sometimes we asked that each person either bring an old photo of themselves with DD to use or to think of a fun memory they share and use that as the basis for the scrapbook page.

ETA: You can also put out several disposable cameras so the kids can take lots of random shots of the events and include those in your scrapbook.

Wanted to add, our DD and her friends (ages 16-18) still love just being goofs. I can put a table of food in the backyard, along with some music then give them several cans of silly string, shaving dream, water balloons and they are in heaven.

Do you sew? You can have friends sign blocks of fabric with washable markers, and make a memory quilt for her to take to college or her first apartment.
