    Default Annoyed and Discouraged

So today was a LESS THAN FRUGAL day...I have been feeling really down because none of my spirng clothes fit right this year (they seem to have shrunk over the winter

So I spent some money that isn't in the budget on some tops. Not a fortune, not the end of the world, but when I hit these bumps in the road, I get nervous. It starts to feel like "why bother?" and I know it's worth it, but it's hard to believe that things can be different.

    Anyhow, that's me, today...

    You people are sooo nice!

I decided I'm gonna go through some things that are junking up my house and try to sell them on craigslist to make up the money I spent.

    Thanks for the kind words!

I did the same thing this week. I need clothes for when I go back to work in April. I've worn the same capris for three long summers and they are shot. One pair has a big hole in the butt, another is ready to get a hole and I ruined one pair in the fall helping paint the bath house. I bought me two jogging suits and a pair of capris at Dollar General the other day. Felt guilty as heck, but I need them and they were cheap.

Don't beat yourself up over it!

I'm guessing you did NOT go into Nordstrom or Saks fifth ave, and spend $200 per top. So take it EASY on yourself, girl!

Heck, I must have 4 sizes in my closet, from all of the winters my clothes shrank. (for me, it's bottoms--pants, jeans, etc) The important thing is NOT to toss them when you are decluttering....no matter HOW tempting it is to believe you will never gain an ounce again, LOL.

Have definately been there. Things happen like this. Don't forget button down tops can still be worn over a top or camisole.

May not have been how you wanted to spend the money but you must be doing something right since you were able to buy some tops. Imagine if you did not have the money to buy some tops.

Some of the tops I purchased at the thrift store but no longer fit me I was able to give to someone who was really happy to have new to her tops.

So enjoy your tops and I am sure everything will work out.

Everyone has unfrugal days every now and then. YOu did what you needed to do at the time. As long as you shopped the best you could, don't beat yourself up. But, where will the money come to pay for it? Too many times I have bought and then tried to figure out how to pay for it. It creates a lot of stress. It is a constant battle of mine. figure out a plan to pay for it now.

Sorry, the profile pic question was for WV mom of 2.

And hey, can you even imagine spending $200 on a top? Or well, almost anything? It's funny how relative everything is when you are trying to be frugal...I spend $12 on sale, and that makes me feel bad! HA!

Don't feel bad - it was good to "freshen" up your wardrobe.
Do not emphasize that the size difference and you will feel better .

DOP, I don't know about you, but for me its hard to feel good when I'm squeezing myself into too small clothes and hating how I look. Don't think of it as wasting money, think of it as investing in your internal resources and self esteem. How much time would you waste beating yourself up and trying to find a decent outfit for work or other events?

If the new tops fit, wear them until you lose the winter weight.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm four months pregnant. A friend gave me her maternity clothes and some things didn't fit. It made me feel like a whale and I still have five months to go!!!

    Hey ml2620!

Congrats on the baby! I used to buy maternity clothes because I like the way they fit. A friend of mine looked like she was eight months pregnant from 3 months on. She only got slightly bigger the week before the baby came. It's a weird (but beautiful!) process, so enjoy it!

I'm gonna make the most of the tops and try to enjoy that feeling of having something new, cos' I don't do that often.

    Take care!
