    Default Pretty proud of BF.....

He's been incredibly easy to "train " over the last few years with regards to saving money (we saved a boatload over the course of 2 years to pack up and move down to FL without securing employment first) and he's always been good with helping me find different ways to make our groceries cheaper (the latest was him volunteering to eat the same flavor yogurt day after day because it is cheaper in a 32 oz. container, good thing he likes cherry LOL) Anyway....so yesterday he came home from work and told me that most of his coworkers (8 people or so) take turns taking money from everyone and getting their orders for various fast food places at lunch time. We've always packed our lunches. Everyone was eating lunch yesterday and one of the guys yelled over to BF "hey Justin, you're missing out!" to which BF responded "I've got Digorno (sp? pizza), I think I'll be alright." It was leftover from the night before. And then one by one, everyone agreed that "they wished they could do that (pack lunch)" I am not really sure what they mean by they "wish," maybe the concept is too complicated? LOL. So the entire time he's telling me this, he's got a grin on his face and I can tell that he is pretty proud of himself. So I took out a calculator later that night and added up just what it costs for him to pack a lunch; the highest total I came up with was $1.62. That's the MOST "expensive" day when I pack him a cheeseburger that I've got pre-cooked and stacked in the freezer. Any given day he takes a sandwich (burger, ham&cheee, tuna, or PB&J), a handful or 2 of chips, a yogurt, and a HM "granola bar." So I pointed out that if he and his coworkers make anywhere near the same amount of money (given his field I'm fairly certain it's close) they are working approx. 1/2 hr. every day to pay for their $7 "value" meals (oxymoron?) wheras BF is working only a few minutes a day to pay for his lunch. Boy was he grinning again LOL. He really never does cease to amaze me, though....

That is so awesome! I do the same thing most days. I pack a sandwich and veggie sticks, or some little snack, and water. I save SO much doing this.
Your boyfriend looks so comfy on the couch with your kitty. He looks young, too. I must be older than you lol!!

DH takes either hamburger, a pork chop or two sausages with him to work, with either rice or pasta, and some sauce. He LOVES it, and all his coworkers are jealous, since they all bring microwave meals. And he tallied it up -- it was cheaper, healthier, more filling and way tastier than any microwave meal or sandwich he could think of!

Don't you just LOVE a frugal man!

LOL. He is quite a large cat...16 lbs or so. Surprisingly enough, he seems to be eating less down in FL than at my parent's house back home. I chalk it up to him "competing" for food with the other 2 cats Maybe being the only cat he's finally convinced he won't starve....after 15 years of being fed.

Yep. I am older. Just turned 30 in Feb. I will never get used to this 30 business. I wish I could have stayed 25. That was a good age. It went by WAY too fast!!

I pack my dh a bento every day for lunch and his coworkers are jealous also 'cause his food always looks so good! I just consider it an act of love to make him a special lunch. My kids get one too in various cute bento boxes. They get lots of comments from teachers and kids at school.
