something weird happened at our house
We had something weird happen last week and we cannot find an explanation.
We have a small side room in an annex which we use for people who stay over. Every time that someone stays over, I change the sheets.
The day before I had changed the sheets on the bed and pushed it neatly back where it should be, pillows at the top end, quilt pulled up to partly cover the pillows.
The blind in the room is always open except when someone sleeps there.
The next day, dh asked me who had stayed over.
I had no idea and he said to me to have a look.
The bed had clearly been slept in, the blind was down and the bed had been pulled down a bit so that the pillows had fallen on the ground.
Now it has happened many times that the kids bring a friend home for whatever reason so it wouldn't be weird for me to find another kid in this bed or to hear that someone had stayed the night but there was no one and not one of the kids had brought anyone home for the night.
This freaks me out because I don't know what has happened.*Avril*

Oh my gosh...that would freak me out too!
How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

That is very weird! Do you have a ghost? LOL! Could someone have broken in for the night? Like maybe a homeless person or something? Have you checked to make sure nothing has been stolen?

First guess: DH is ****ing with you.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Does anyone sleepwalk at your house?

Do you have pets? My dog gets under the covers after I've made the bed.

I'll give some replies to the questions.
Greebo, DH is not the kind of person who would do this - honestly.
He was just as puzzled as I was. He also asked one of the kdis if they knew anything about it.
We have an alarm system in the house. If anyone enters the house then they have to type in a code within 30 seconds or the alarm goes off and believe me, we would have heard it.
I have also thought of sleepwalkers. As far as I know we don't sleepwalk. I do have one son who sleepwalks but he doesn't live at home any longer.
Also we don't have any pets at all - allergies.
We have also been having something weird happening outside too. Every single day a tiny little bird flies into our windows at the back of the house for about 2 hours. He never takes a break and does it every 5 minutes or so in the early morning.
He's been doing this for about 1 month. We never feed him because I don't want to encourage him - I'm afraid that he may hurt himself.
After the 2 hours or so, he stops and flies away, just to come back the next morning to do the same.
He has never flown into the window of the annex or the front of the house, just the back.*Avril*

really, that is weird.
ok, so OBVIOUSLY someone slept in it, and from the sounds of it, it was someone who was LET in the house (otherwise the alarm would've gone off)
so, not to sound harsh, but just because your kids SAID no one stayed last night, doesn't mean one of them actually HAD someone stay last night.
I mean, otherwise there would have been the alarm sounding, right?
CLEARLY, someone let someone in.......
can't wait to hear the final outcome of this saga

My thoughts are the same.
I think that for one reason or another one of the kids doesn't want to admit letting someone in.
This in itself is strange because we have never made an issue of any of the kids' friends staying over.
Heck there was even one morning I went into a son's room to wake him up for breakfast and thought that his hair looked strange. The person turned around and I saw that it wasn't my son but one of his friends. My son had taken a sleeping bag and had slept on the floor in another son's room. There were times when I had more 'guests' than own kids sleeping here.
One thing is certain though, I WILL get to the bottom of this.*Avril*

Your kids' friends likely all know the security code and can let themselves in.
