Adventures in moving
We are finally moved. After three months of living in our adult daughter's upstairs bedrooms, and commuting back and forth to Indianapolis all this time, we moved last weekend.
Of COURSE it was pouring rain. And we broke the garage door by slamming into it with a runaway upright freezer. And the dishwasher is broken. And we had a defective rental truck - but other than that, it was just ducky!
We have too much furniture for this new place, but met a neighbor today who is interested in all of it, plus the stove and fridge the sellers left behind. What she's going to pay us will just about cover the cost of the new dishwasher, so it's a win-win!!!
Sunday morning, 30 minutes before church started, I had to send DH and DD#4 to Walmart to buy me underwear - could not find mine to save my life
Made it before the first song was over! It is so wonderful being close to everything that used to be a 30 minute drive.
God is good. I think I'll just live in this house forever!!!

Congratulations! That is so awesome!! It sucks about the damages and lost underwear, but at least it is all over now. I get to move soon and I am NOT looking forward to it, but it will be worth it in the end. After moving over 30 times in my 30 years, I am looking forward to settling down. Enjoy your new home!

Hahaha MC - is it just like a wedding - when it rains on your wedding (day?) it's a sign of good luck - so was the rainy moving day a blessing?
I hope you're enjoying you're home and settling in nicely

Mary, I guess "all's well that ends well" after all!

I'm glad all that's behind you now, and it sounds like you're already enjoying your new place
And congrats too on that quick sale of your furnishings. That fell right into your lap, didn't it? Now how sweet is that?
Time to sit back, relax, and take it all in! New beginnings can be great, and I'm wishing you just that.
