Default My Trade-off actually worked out

So in November, December, and January I kept my thermo at 55 degrees. I work from home and really like wearing shorts and a T-Shirt everyday but it was far too cold for that. So I decided I would make a trade off. I would stop using my dryer( it helped that it died) and air dry my clothes. In return I would then keep the thermo at 73 so that I could wear shorts and T-Shirts.

My Bill was only 53 cents off from the previous month. I know the weather played a big part of it too. But, as My old dryer died and I don't mind air drying the clothes, I don't think I am even going to bother replacing it.

I just had to share my good fortune with my friends here who would understand.

Thats great news Did you find the air more 'moist' aka humidified? Thats the one thing I love about drying clothes on my rack in the basement.

AnW319, I hear that. I love my new washer and keep finding things that just need to be washed. I used to do 5 loads every two weeks, now I manage to wash something everyday.

I use the drying racks and just set them up in my bedroom so they are out of the way. I have had to turn my ceiling fan on to get the air moving and I think Humidity will be a problem if it wasn't for the heat/A/C.

I am hoping that with Spring and summer I can cut off the heat and A/C more and see a reduction in my power bill. I know it would only be a few bucks, but I just HATE giving the power company money.

That's great! My dryer died several months ago and I'm not going to replace it. I rarely use it anyway and we've made due all winter without it. I'm thinking about making the corner it sat in a pantry!

Sounds like a good plan! Our dryer died too, what a pain. I have been able to air dry things. Luckily I spend alot of time at my parents house, so they let me use their dryer all I want. I wash everything at home and tote it to my parents until I can get my dryer fixed.

I'm among the air dryers too. I can't wait for nice summer days though so I can dry more stuff more quickly.

How very wise! With the extra work of hanging your clothes, you deserve those shorts and t-shirts. And if you think about it, your laundry loads are not as bulky as filling the washer with heavy sweatshirts and jeans. So a little extra savings there as well!

    Good thinkin'

    Great job Josephhgoins.

I have a question for anyone to answer. I like to air dry all my shirts but the only thing I hate to air dry is my jeans. They become really stiff and aren't very comfortable. Any suggestions?
