I think after this encouraging news I will list a snowblower on CL after I can get it out of the shed.
Any help in wording?
Anything I need to look out for?

Make, model, how old, what's wrong with it, price. I'd wait til next Fall if I could...you'd get a better price than in the Spring. Oh...pictures, pictures, pictures.

Yup, no snow in the way
I think you can have the pics on your desktop, browse to them and upload them. If not, then use a link from a flickr or other photo storage account.BEF fully funded

I haven't had ANY trouble with CL but I am careful. Take TIME in writing a good ad and only take cash!! I put that in the ad too.
I NEVER put my phone # in the ad.......let them email me. I put GOOD PICS....sized down if needed... and give a good description........measurements, color---whatever will help it sell. If the $ is firm ----put FIRM! If you will negotiate leave it open.....I never put will negot. as then they will ask to lower it........some people just pay the price....love those!
I have sold a few pieces of furn out of my house.........I have it by the door and they are NOT ALLOWED to come in....no one has tried. It is pretty obvious when I answer the door and the item is right there!
ONE SCAM HERE ----is the 'mother' comes with the little kid----and all of a sudden the kid has to go to the bathroom...."can we use your bathroom?" .....NOT!! While she is in the bathroom they go through everything in there. This scam has even been a warning on our news. I have never had this problem but was ready to say "no" if need be.
I usually put anything for sale out in my garage......move the car out......and put the item close to the door.

How odd is this. This thread started yesterday and today I had an email for "craigslist.org" that was not real. It was a scam to get my login information for Craigslist. Be careful. When I typed in the craigslist website instead of using the link (I am very careful about using links in email because they are usually scams) there was a warning on the real login page about the scam.

You should NOT put your phone number or your address, or your email address in the ad itself.
LET THEM EMAIL YOU....through craigslist's EMAIL.
I call it a blind ad / concealed email.
That way you only have to deal with one or two serious buyers, and then exchange your personal info with them.
I say in the ad...please email me through craigslist....and please include your phone number and best time to call you.
Then I can use my cell phone to call them, and not my house phone. If you can't make a deal with them, this way, they don't have any of your information.--------My signature--------

I always meet them in the lobby, and for extra security (I live alone), I call a friend and let them know when I am meeting the person, and I make sure I always "We'll be home" or "We can meet you" so they think I am not alone.

Like ladytoysdream said..........but I have a 'special' email that I have set up for when/if I have to answer their ad......doesn't give my name or anything.
I use it when I don't want someone having my 'main' email address. I will use this to do any email through CL.
Quite often ----if it has been a week later or so.......someone will write and ask if the item is still available. I haven't had any problems with that............I answer.
When you start placing ads you will quickly learn when someone sounds like it is 'for real'........and when it is just some 'ditso'......asking questions.
