You are doing great! Keep it up.......

I have had really good luck with CL......and NO FEES....that is the best part.

Have also shopped on CL and been pretty successful.

That is excellent! I haven't sold anything on CL yet, but I hear nothing but good things (like this), so Im leaning more and more towards giving it a shot! I'm thinking I could probably get better prices than doing a gaage sale, and Ebay is just too much work right now .

    Nice job!

Just watch out for the scammers. The last couple times I listed something, the first couple replies were from people that wanted to buy, would give me a few dollars extra to remove the listing, said they were out of the country on a trip, and would have an agent send me a certified check. Ain't gonna happen on my watch.

    I like craigslist

I just bought a cage for the chickens on there. It's not going to work for what I need, but I know I can get my money back out of it. Very possible to double my money.
I also found a couple of ads for wire fencing. I did not buy them, because they were too far away, but at least I got more info about the price for used versus new.

I also have a lady wanting to buy some chicks from me as soon as I can get some hatched. It was not a ad for chicks I put up but a rooster I wanted to sell. She asked if I would do some spring hatching and I kept her email and she will be coming here to get maybe 6 or 8 in about a month. As soon as I can get a few more hatched out, then I can put up a ad for chicks.

I just put a ad up last evening for my son for a tractor, and one email later, I think he has a buyer. The guy talked to him last night already.

When you put up a ad, don't put any personal info in the ad. Let them respond as a email. Then you are dealing with one person who has your info at a time.
Just recently now, there is one spammer who emails real quick when you post a selling ad. Their email is sort of stupid / obvious, if you ask me, so when I see it, I just delete it and don't respond to it. That way, they don't have my email, because your email they respond to, is concealed. Once you reply, that is when they have your email.

I think craigslist is better than a newspaper. If you have a item you want to sell, then for a newspaper ad, you need to list your phone number and you can get calls at all hours.

With CL , I just ask for them to respond to the ad, with their phone number and best time to call. Real simple

Yeah, I'm really cautious about anyone who doesn't offer exactly what I asked for or who hedges and hesitates. I also never let people pick up from my apartment.

I think with the economy as rough as it is right now, you just have to be a little more careful when buying or selling. Just use a little more caution. Ask for cash when selling something. If it is lightweight and easy to move around, you can probably meet someone at a public place to then make your sale.

Craigslist is free to put up a ad
And a lot of people know about it.
Just go to craigslist.com, pick your state, and then city closest to you. You also can search for what you want on their site.

I've been trying for about 3 years to get DH to haul away some junk. I finally posted an ad listing the "junk" for free and within 2 hours it was all gone. I now have my space back and am THRILLED about it!

I got my precious kittens off of Craigslist too. I will never deal with the crooked shelters in my area again and began exploring ways of finding kittens. I ended up requesting a kitten on Craigslist and we came home with 2. They are the healthiest little creatures and just purrrrrrrrrfect!!

We sell and buy alot on craigslist. With alot of success. Just watch put for the scammers who say they are from out of the country and the tire kickers who will bug and bug you but will never buy anything.

I've actually been contemplating Craigslist to sell some stuff on before we move to L.A. and it's nice to hear from those who were successful.

For those who have sold stuff there: if they don't come to the apartment, how do you do the exchange? Meet in the lobby? We have some furniture we want to sell and this may be the best way for me to do it.

We also got some kittens on Craiglist and ended up bring both back but turned out they had FeLV and died within a year and half. We do know, however, that we spoiled them and they got a better home than where they were before. We'd do it again (once we can -- we still have one 16-yr old cranky cat who has FeLV and we're waiting for her to pass before we get more).

We have sold two old vehicles on Craigslist. We also have sold a 4-wheeler, a dirt bike, and an ab lounger. I was glad to see these items go and the thing I like about Craigslist is it is FREE to list the items. All items I listed sold within days or the same day!
