    Default So disgusted on housebuying

I still don't have a closing date. It was supposed to be the 31st, then it was supposed to be this past week. Then they don't know. Just waiting on underwriter to finish looking at paperwork. My mortgage broker is mad as the uw, I am mad too. I think this is a lot of bs. I got the paperwork in 2 weeks ago. She has asked for more forms, and I immediately delivered them. Now she is just taking her sweet time. She had started reviewing them, said no problems, then stopped. The mortgage broker even called the uw's supervisor. She said it isn't right what the uw is doing. I am sick. Now I may have to come up with more rent money for the hole I am living in now. Someone owes me a BIG explaination. I am SO mad. I am sending out some letters when this is over. I even requested the 31st off since it was supposed to be the closing date. I have 2 people that can help me move on that day, my mom and her hubby. If I don't close by next weekend I am screwed. I will have to pay more rent here FOR SURE then wait to have people available to help me move. AND, I have to give a month's notice to take a day off since I get my work schedule monthly.

Thanks, Dana. I just re-read my post. I had just gotten up for work when I posted it. I was still half-asleep. I have the rent money for this hole, I just don't want to pay more rent here. I don't even want to BE here. I want my house!!! I was hoping to use the money towards the house instead of rent. I hate spending money even when I have it. I don't want to keep using my money if I can save or use it for things I need for the house, kwim? I can't wait to get into the house. I think the least they can do is give me a closing date and stick to it.

I swear buying a house is on the top ten list of most stressful things in life!

Once you close and get into your house, all of this will just be a bad memory!

    good luck!

Well today is my lucky day!! I had the one on one with the credit counselor, and my mortgage broker called during the meeting. I am set to close, my mortgage is lower than I thought. I am so excited!! My closing is projected for Friday but she is trying to get it for Wednesday! I am just jumping up and down!! I called the electric and water companies. Now I just have to call the trash company. I can hardly wait!!

    Yay! That is great news.

I purchased my parents' home, telling the bank we were buying it as an "as is" house to fix it up, thus the low selling price. We stressed that it should be a conventional loan, no FHA. Well....they tried to send it through as an FHA loan, and after 2 months, they finally let us know we'd have to fix everything to get the loan. Sometimes I wonder why they never listen? We "fired" the bank, and went through a broker, closing in 2 weeks. Sometimes you have to wonder why they do things they do, and why it takes so long.

Wow! That is a long time!!! I am so excited to close this week.

It is so funny, the house is so big it will look empty even with my stuff all in it! It will be nice to have room to move. I have more storage space than I have stuff to store. I am just so happy. My mortgage is going to be in the low $500's a month with everything escrowed. The mortgage broker said that the underwriter couldn't understand why I was buying a house for so much less than I qualify for. She told the uw that I am very careful with my money and like to keep my expenses low. The lady for the credit counseling was shocked that I have no debt and so little expenses. I guess most people are really spendy!

DH and I are in a very similar spot. We had set a closing date of March 30th back in January, had the down payment, had all the paper work and mysteriously the loan processor quit or was transferred (whatever) and she had put in a note saying that we no longer wanted to mortgage. I was like.. umm.. if that's the case why the heck did we have an inspector come to the home after said "note" was added to our file?! and why would be call and leave voicemails every single day if we were no longer interested??!!? - of course about two weeks later we finally get a response from someone (tried going into local branch, nothing happened) and they were like... whoops, sorry! we'll put a rush on it. That was a week ago. Had to fill out a new contract and boy has this whole process been stressful.

I'm glad to read though that I'm not the only one. Not that I'm happy that yall had to go through it too but that its a hard head hitting the table kind of thing for others too not just me. I was starting to take the whole thing very personally, well scratch that. I have taken it personally.

I guess I'm in the minority here. We looked at houses, picked one, did the negotiations and closed on the original date set. Our mortgage broker even changed the interest rate, lowering it, and then sent us a letter stating what the changes were.

We did all of this in about two weeks.

House buying for us was less stressful than having a baby or getting married and trust me, our wedding wasn't stressful at all.

Well I am really getting mad now. Now they don't have a closing date yet AGAIN. They are trying to get everyone on the same page to get a day set. It is going to be really hard to move if I don't move this weekend at the latest. Everyone that can help has THIS weekend off, I even took today off, a month in advance because I had some help. I have to work next weekend and so does everyone else. So now, as of today, I am paying for water and electric on a house I don't live in. I don't know what to tell current landlord yet, and I am paying for electric here too. This is getting to be a big headache.
