My mini roller coaster day
Pointless thread, just wanted to share.
Last night: beater car overheated on the way home from the bank. Afraid to drive it, I immediately went home. Wanted to jump online to see when car shop was open on Saturday, no internet. Went to feed the dogs, out of dog food because that is where I was headed immediately after the bank. Went to find something to eat, out of milk and of course was swept away with that terrible feeling of "no food in the house" because that was my NEXT stop after getting dog food. There is PLENTY of food for crying out loud. Sheesh.
I lost it. Complete basket case bawling. You'd have thought someone died, seriously, it was ridiculous. I was suddenly regretting that I sold the CRV which is silly because I'd still have to fix this beater for my daughter, I was completely at a loss without my internet to entertain me, as if I don't love to read and have dvd's I could have watched. All I could think of is if I can't get the car fixed then I can't work the extra hours over spring break and my brain totally flipped. Not to mention I have very little $ right now for car repairs. Well what money would I have if I had that stupid car payment on top of this? I still have emergency fund money, it was just scary not to have a credit card to hand over.
My daughter's bf took her to get the dog food for me so the dogs could eat. (they were out and about already, so they didn't mind)
Did I mention I also took out my bad day on my own boyfriend? Oh, ya, that's mature. Real mature. Like any of this is his fault, right? Gawd I hate when I do that. I don't know why he puts up with me.
This morning got up, asked bf to look up phone numbers for me which he did, got the car into a jiffy lube type place and car is fine, I'm embarrassed to say it was just the lack of care. The sticker said it didn't need serviced yet but I didn't think about the fact that the poor car sat most of the winter unused. Runs beautifully now.
Called Comcast, they helped me figure out the internet which is fixed as you can tell, I'm writing this, ha!
Got groceries, which included the coffee I was out of, milk, eggs, etc.
So basically I'd just like to say that the initial leap to be Dave Ramsey Intensive can be a bit overwhelming if you let it. If you don't realize that it will pay off, that it is for the best, it can be kinda scary. Do it anyway.LDR

KRBS... I know what you mean about days like this. My computer got messed up by a virus this week and I had three days without internet... I went a little crazy. I have forgotten how I used to do things before computers were a necessity. Glad you've gotten your car, groceries, dog food and have your internet straightened out.

Sorry you had a rough day (( hugs ))
My reaction to lots of multiple problems .....
handle ONE problem at a time.
Get that one taken care of.
Stop and breathe.....
Then the next one.
Rinse, lather, repeat
Then it's not so overwhelming.--------My signature--------

krbs - you WILL get through this. This was a test of your Emergency Frugal Skills.

Try to relax, breathe and tackle one thing at a time, which it sounds like you already have. *hugs*2012: The Year Of The Purge!

Glad to hear everything worked out. Remember once when I was young and just started working, well, all I had to eat in the house was in a can. Guess when I could not find in the house, a can opener.

HAHHAHAAA!!! Ok that made me laugh out loud, that was awesome. I would have fallen to the floor in tears.
Thank you all. The internet croaked AGAIN today and I, with comcast help, narrowed it down to the router. Bought a new router (yes I know it was NOT in my budget but neither is a mental hospital hahahaa) and am back online with one computer, don't know what the other computer's issue is.
I made myself switch gears and focused on boyfriend's birthday present which is going to be homemade and cheap and he will love it.
I appreciate all of you caring even when it was so miniscule.LDR
