Default Excited for Easter ! Anyone else ?

I'm so excited about Easter Sunday!
I boiled eggs today and my hyacinths are opening.
Tomorrow I will bake the placek and Friday it will be sour cream cheesecake.
On Friday the kids will decorate the eggs-it's their only day off for Easter ( they get a week off in late April)

I can't wait for Sunday and hopefully it will be a sunny day!

Thanks for looking and let me know about your Easter celebration.

I get excited about the whole weekend. I get to see my awesome cutie pie niece, beat my BIL in Skeeball (and make him cry like a girl when I do), hang out with my SIL at West Edmonton Mall and color Easter eggs with the kids.

I miss doing eggs and baskets. My sons are grown, yet I'm not a grandma yet.

However, DH and I are going to take ham and all the fixin's over to my IL's house and have dinner with them. They are all wheelchair-bound over there, including a paralyzed BIL.

We have absolutely no plans. We moved here over 8 years ago, but have never really found a church we feel at home in (we go to the one we can walk to for C & E). We don't have any family nearby. I used to do a big thing: color eggs, make a hunt for our son, dinner, friends, church, baskets, charity work... but the last year and this, my heart isn't in it. DS is only 9, so I will pull together something of course.

Your excitement is prodding me in a good way. This used to be my favorite holiday, not sure why the stuffing has gone out of it...

we're dying eggs and making a basket for my parents! don't know if i have to work yet (hospitality industry doesn't get holidays) so we'll either cook at my parents or go to my work for the brunch.
i know the rents are jumpin for some grandkids to do easter for...just have to wait longer i guess!

Our day will begin with Easter services and end at my DH's parents for an Easter egg hunt and an Easter feast.

I'll also be making Easter candy on Saturday. My Grandmother's recipe for peanut butter and coconut eggs.

I get to go see my family....(in another state). Since I've worked retail so long, this is the first Easter holiday I get with family in many years. Am going to enjoy it!

I'm excited. We'll probably color eggs tonight. I've been collecting things for about a week now to put in my girls baskets. As they get older (12 & almost 9) it's a bit harder as to what to put in them.

Sunday, church for us then a birthday celebration for my Mom. How nice to celebrate her birthday on Easter Sunday.

My dd is 12 and I stock up on lotions and hair products - My ds is 14 and it is very hard for basket stuffers that can surprise him.
I found some great music shirts that I hope he loves this year.

I use to decorate inside & outside, my house, the neighbors house, cook, bake, invite people over etc. But I am older and smarter now....

Two years ago my son & daughter in law had everyone over to their new home for Easter....Never again!!! Because the kitchen was so small and there was no room to sit and eat comfortablely, I sugggested she put a table in the living room which was huge and they had very little furniture in there......she screamed that no one was eating in the living room.....ok, I went and sat in the living room and kept my mouth shut...five minutes later she walks by with a plate of food...I asked my son what was going on and he told me that her older son was watching tv in the bedroom and he was hungry....we couldn't eat in the living room but he could eat in the bedroom?????? Then, she calls her youngest son (5 yrs old) for an egg hunt and did not invite my daughters children to participate....the youngest, 7 at the time, kept asking why he couldn't hunt eggs....How rude is that!

Last year she sent me an ugly email saying I didn't come visit her youngest son on Easter.....they never tell me what they are doing. If I ask them what they are doing, she tells me it is none of my business.

My daughter is working this year & I told my son that hubby and I will go to church, go out to eat and take a nice ride & remember why we celebrate Easter. We will NOT be visiting anyone!

Don't your wish you had my daughter in law!

    Happy Easter everyone!!

I've had the window clings up for weeks....My Easter displays of 3 crosses & the Easter tree that the Houseapes decorated. We had a cookie party & decorated "chocolate Easter bunnies....had the Easter egg hunt and the 1 mega Easter basket (for all houseapes). Tomorrow (Easter) we will go to my mom & dad's for Easter dinner & another egg hunt....kiddos will stay there until Tues & hopefully, our kitchen ceiling will be repaired by the time they get home...then comes the April birthdays...lots & lots of celebrating at our house....won't end until the 20th.LOL
