Happy April Fools Day!!
I made this cake for the kids and they actually thought it was spaghetti and meatballs until they got a closer look. Now they can't wait to have some after lunch.

My mom used to EVERY YEAR serve pancakes for dinner on April Fools' Day ,and as soon as she poured the batter, loop it full of sewing thread, then flip and finish cooking. My dad fell for it EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!
We also would go around the house and stuff the toes of every shoe and boot full of newspaper - people would be finding victim shoes for months afterwards!!

that looks great Danni. I did this 5 years ago. I made meatloaf and mashed potatoes "cupcakes" for dinner. The kids loved it. I made hot dog cookies and put jello in glasses with straws that looked like kool-aid. I haven't done it since then, but it was a fun memory for the boys.

Too funny....we're making those for "dessert" tonight. We haven't made them before...so it's nice to see your picture. For "dinner" we'll have mock grilled cheese sandwiches....which is really toasted pound cake for the bread with orange frosting in the middle for the cheese.
Last April 1st, my son and I made a round sub sandwich and frosted it with tinted softened cream cheese. We put it on a cake pedestal and decorated it to look like a round layer cake.
That was fun....

dannie, I see that your April Fools Day was a good one. The cake looked real.

my day hasn't been going so good. Today would have been my son Nicholas (Nicky) 19th birthday. He died 19 years ago. It is 9 p.m. and I just got back from the ER with my husband he broke his wrist for the 4th time in th e same place. All they did was take his blood pressure it read 185/104 then took us back to a room (this place was dead) it took 15 minutes for a resident doctor to come back ask the same thing a couple of times then leave. 30 minutes later they come in and do x-rays in the er room, then leave another 20 minutes or so goes by and finally a doctor comes in says it brusied ice and tell us to go home.
They don't wrap it or give him any pain medication nor do the give him an ice pack, I have NO ice at home or money to by ice until tomorrow.. These hospitals around here suck

I am sorry to vent my anger.
Good night I am off to sleep I must get up for work in the morning I am not off until Monday.
The joke was on me./

triker - I hope both you and your husband are feeling better today
The meatballs are ferrero rocher chocolates and the sauce is strawberry jam.
