I can't believe it was this easy!
Well we're back from the US and I was absolutely dreading the jetleg. The flights from the US - depending on where you are flying from - fly through the night (cet time) which means that you usually arrive in Europe around 7 or 8 in the morning but your body says OK it's time to go to bed.
Almost everyone here says try and stay up and go to bed at the normal time which usually makes me feel like I am half dead. I actually do not function at all.
Yesterday - for one stupid reason I had not cancelled my lesson in the afternoon, so both dh and I went to bed at around 10 am and slept for 3 hours. We got up (VERY VERY difficult), did some stuff around the house and I went to my class.
We actually functioned reasonably well except for the cotton wool felling in our heads. Dh on top of everything else had a bad cold (I gave it to him) which made him feel even worse.
However everything went well and we went to bed at around 10 pm fully expecting to wake up at some time during the night.
We actually overslept this morning. We slept right through till 7.30 this morning (which wasn't good since dh had an appointment and he to leave at the latest at 7.30).
So any ideas here? Is it because we weren't completely over the jetlag on the trip going over to the US or was it because we slept a little when we came home and did our normal routine?
Are we getting used to this (done it so often)? Maybe it's a combination of everything?
I just can't believe it was so easy this time. We usually need about a week to get back to sleeping through the night when we come home from the US.*Avril*

Your heading home from the US is the same direction as our heading to the mainland or home from Asia - always the hardest jet lag for us to recover from. If we land in the morning, I always take a short nap - under three hours and then force myself to stay up until 8-9 PM, then pass out until morning - this usually straightens my inner time out the fastest!!
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

I think it might have been easier for you this time because you stayed up for awhile, had a nap, and then got up again. Whenever I go to Europe from the US, that's what I do, and I find it easier to function, and don't feel so rotten (jet lagged).
