What a stressful morning.
My oldest daughter was home from college for the weekend. My husband was going to take her home this morning. It is 1 1/2 hr one way drive. Well my husband woke up in the middle of the night with a stomach bug. So he couldn't take her. I drove her there about 70 miles then I hopped on the turnpike and drove to work. I put about 130 miles on my van just this morning and it cost me $4.25 in tolls. I was on the road for 3 hours this morning. My work was fine with it. I just called and told my boss what was going on. My normal ride is 45 min and $1 toll to get to work. At least the weather was beautiful. The traffic was pretty light.

I hate it when mornings get way out of whack. At least you had a pretty day for the drive, even if it wasn't what you wanted to do. It sounds like you work at a good place.

You can't claim tolls on taxes for w-2 job that is only if you work and get a 1099(self employeed). I am management level for my job so that helps. I am salary so I put alot of extra hours in and don't get paid. It does help that the CFO is my boss. Other days that isn't such a great thing.
