    Default Feeling very blessed today...

My husband has a saying he likes to use: "You don't have to look far to find someone who has it worse than you."

Boy, that's the truth. I read a lot of stories of people's lives here on FV, and it brings it back to me often.....

But this morning, I was reading a story about a couple who had 4 kids and the parents both carried (unbeknownst to them) the gene for a certain fatal disease. 3 of their 4 children had the disease and died before the ages of between 10 and 13.

Then, I'm out on my porch today, and my neighbor comes by and says HI. We talk and catch up, and here she was diagnosed with oral (tongue) cancer last year about this time and had surgery last June, and they have found some more of it on her tongue this month.

She is waiting for results from a biopsy. (we were in Michigan all last year, and although she emailed us about our siding hanging off, we didn't know she was battling this.)

She is a non-smoker, non-anything-carcinogenic user, very healthy (her DH is a doc)--exercises all the time and eats very healthy. Go figure. I am just so sorry she's having this happen, she's such a nice woman.

So---I'm worried about, and praying for....so many others. But realizing how blessed I am.

I totally understand what you are saying. You just never know what others are battling.

Thank you for the reminder that I am blessed today

I read this article with numbered items from an older lady and one of them was if we all threw our problems into a pile; we'd choose ours back. Grass always looks greener on the other side because most of the time we don't know what the other side is dealing with. I so agree with you CAB

Mahalo for the reminder. Sometimes when I look at friends who are in so much better financial shape than we are, I say to myself ' you never know what is going on in their lives, we all have lessons to learn' It would be a good think if we were all content with our lives no matter what!!
