Sunshine & Productivity
Has anyone else noticed this?
I find when its semi-bright or sunny out, I seem to be more eager to be productive and generally in a "go go go" mood. I know sunshine helps boost your mood but I mean I could stay indoors while its sunny out and just get a lot more accomplished. On days where it's dark and gloomy, I'm just in a vegetative state and nothing gets done.
But then there's some of us that wish for a rainy day in hopes to stay in and get some chores done that were pushed wayward side while we all went to frolic and enjoy the sunshine. But when the rain comes...we recoil back into that vegetative state. LOL
Life is ironic sometimes huh?

I'm the same way, in the winter since I can't afford to keep it warm in here all I want to do is sit watching tv coverd up.When it warms up and the sun comes out I'm ready to move.I want to be moving now but I hurt my arm a couple of months ago shoveling snow and it's all I can do just to keep the dishes done.It makes me so mad there is so much I want to get done and that needs done.I need to wash walls, shampoo carpets, paint the kitchen. It makes me feel worthless.

I totally agree! Sunny days...watch out! I work hard and sleep well that night. Rainy days I turn up the radio and sing, dance and clean. I do this when the kids are at school, so they do not laugh at me!

Raising my hand here. Add me to this list. When it's sunny it just seems to energize me. I also love having the windows open with the sun pouring in and the fresh air breezing through the house. I also notice that things just look cleaner when the sun is out, that is once I've cleaned them. When it's nasty, gloomy weather, I just want to mope around the house and read. It doesn't have to be warm outside just sunny to get me motivated.

I've got my hand up too.
I am FULL of beans when the sun comes out, it doesn't even have to be warm as long as the sun is shining.
It is especially nice when I wake up and the sun is shining.*Avril*

It was sunny but cool yesterday & I was rocking it out. Morning I cleaned my house waiting for it to warm up outside in anticipation of being a sunspot baby & reading while sitting at the patio table. Read for a while then got ants in my pants and did some yard work. End of the day it was such a satisfying feeling to get so many things done.
Rainy days make me want to nap but I try to come up with projects that are more in depth like emptying out a closet and reorganizing. Next rainy day I'll be ant proofing my kitchen, lol. Oh I also like on rainy days to make sure all curtains are as open as they can be and weather permitting I open the wood door in front so light streams in the large windowed storm door.
When the heat of summer comes and the sun is blazing I am a lazy slug, I try to get things done as early as possible.~*Darlene*~

I grew up on top of one of the Blue Ridge Mountains, it was Foggy and overcast most days. Sun has the exact opposite effect on me.
When it is foggy, I can't get enough done and when it is sunny the only thing I want to do is sit and enjoy it.

and this is why I love Hawaii!!! Living in the Pacific Northwest, we see a lot of gray days.... I'm wondering what Mauimagic says about living in almost continual sunshine???

I get the most done on cool days, sunny or not. Heat does me in and I don't like to have to shut the house up to run the AC.

Oh absolutely!! The sun is shining, the birds singing & I get a whole boatload of things done. And sleep, like a baby! But I also love the storms at night! Like today, work out done, 8 hours of work, supper done, a couple of hours in the garden, charting for the day done...I'm feeling like superwoman! LOL

I turn on bright lights and drink decaf (caffeine gives me the shakes) and that gives me enough of a boost on gloomy days to get me moving. Other days I just lay around and tell myself I am resting up.
