Asperger's T.V. Show
There is a show on tv called "Parenthood". I'm not sure what channel because I watched the episodes on On Demand. The show is about an extended family. One couple has a boy with Asperger's Syndrome. It really touched my heart watching the family come to terms with their son's diagnosis and then learning to cope with it.
My son (7yrs) is diagnosed with AS and this show made me feel that I'm not alone.
There are other shows on tv that I have suspected the characters might have AS but it has not been made a part of the plotline.

I really like the show. It's on NBC on Tuesday nights after the Biggest Loser. I have worked with a few AS children and I think the show is addressing the issue very tastefully. It's a fresh new series and I hope it isn't short lived.

I just saw part of the program last week - like the way it's done. That's the reason I am passionate about teaching spec. ed. preschool - working with the whole family as they start down a potentially lifetime journey - it's a privilege and honor to be a part of the process.
Think I'll stay up to catch the program this week.
Hope your DS is doing well!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

There's a general consensus on the Internet that Sheldon from "The Big Bang Theory" has Asperger's Syndrome. Though of course his character is designed to be humerous.

I have always thought Sheldon was AS. Also, maybe Dr. Brennon on Bones. The guy character that got sent to prison too. I can't remember his name. I loved him. I actually quit watching the show as much after he got "axed".
I haven't liked any of Bone's assistants since then.Truck paid off 12/07(paid in full)

I really love the way parenthood is written - they had me after the first episode. I don't know anyone with AS but it's great to see almost to true life scenarios on tv

I love this show. It is based in Berkeley which is only about a half hour from where I grew up. It is so cool because I recognize a lot of the places they show and mention. I also love Lauren Graham (former Mom in Gilmore Girls). I don't know much about Asperger's, but I do think the show is wonderful.
