My Very Own Ghost Story (long)
First I want to start out by stating...I've never ever believed in ghosts, and stories I've always heard from others, I've thought "come on now, there has to be a reasonable explanation."
Here is my story. These incidences all happend in 1 months time.
1) Laying in bed reading w/the door partially closed (dh not home & kids in bed). I heard the squeaking of the door open and thought it was the cat and then felt "him" jump on my bed. I put my hand out to have him come near me and nothing. I looked up from my book and there was no cat. Wierd I thought, I felt "him" jump on my bed, I started looking for my cat, and found him downstairs in my son's room (w/the door closed.).
Didn't give it another thought...Until the next morning my dd10 asked me "mom, do you believe in ghosts?" I answered "No, I don't, why do you ask?" She answered "I woke up last nite, cause something was pulling on my leg." OK, I was a little more than freaked out, as we have never ever had a discussion about ghosts and this conversation from her came out of the blue, the very next morning after my experience.
2) Both kids were sitting at the dining room table doing homework and I was in the living room picking up, when I heard this crash. I walked out into the dining room and both kids were looking at me all wide-eyed and freaked out, saying "mom, I swear we didn't do anything." The dining room chair on the opposite side of the table where they were sitting had literally knocked over and slid over into the kitchen area hard enough that it broke the back of the chair.
3) Laying in bed last nite reading (again)....and my cat all of sudden ran to the end of the bed his hair puffed up and he started doing that low growling thing cats do. I tried to get the cat to come to me and ran down by the bedroom door and starting hissing. He wouldn't leave the bedroom, it probably lasted only a minute, then he jumped back up on the bed.
Oh...my....word....I was totally freaked out. What is happening in house???? Any why now? There is an explanation for all this..right???
After typing this all out, I'm feeling a little foolish...but I'm posting it anyways...."We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen; For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

Whoa! Unsettling!
How long have you been in the house?
Who owned it before you? How old is it?
Has anyone new moving in recently, or has anyone moved out?
Have you done renovations or torn up the land in anyway recently?BEF: $$120/$1000

The house is only 12 yrs old. We have lived there for almost 4 yrs. A young couple built the home and lived there prior to us buying it. No renovations, no digging up of any kind.
We have wonderful neighbors, and in talking to them they had nothing but good things to say about the previous owners. Hard working people, took extremely good care of the house and property.
Very, very weird experiences I'm having. My dh just laughs at me and says "Riiiigggghhhttttt.""We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen; For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

It could have been that you just weren't noticing these things happening. Or, it could now be trying to get your attention.

If it happens again, tell it that you mean it no harm but that it is not welcome and it must leave.

hmmm....certainly something to think about. Maybe my mind wasn't open to seeing/hearing these type of things?? very interesting. It's all just strange. The kids don't talk about it and I've never brought it back up, as I don't want to scare my youngest. But I've thinking a lot about this.
We'll see what happens going forward. Thanks all!"We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen; For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

Keep us posted. Also, it wouldn't hurt to talk out loud, and just tell it that you don't want it around you or your children.

Lol. I'm a ghost story junkie. I love this stuff.
Two thoughts -- one, sounds less like a person ghost and more like a pet ghost to me, like a dog or something.
Two, communication is key. Make sure you talk to it and ask it what it wants and what it needs. Could be a warning about something coming up. The term for this kind of spirit is a "forerunner".
