    Default A RAOK story

The most amazing woman I ever met was my very own mother.

As a child I took her for granted but as a woman, I can't tell her enough how loved she is.

A random act of Kindness is an everyday occurrence for her.
Yesterday while shopping at a thrift store she overheard a man going on and on about a painting he liked in the store. He was speaking to the clerks in great detail about the painting and how much he would like to have it but he had no money.

So what did my mother do? She bought the painting for the man. She didn't know why he did not have the money. She didn't ask who he was. She just did it without blinking at the 30.00 price tag.

The clerk called the man over and gave it too him , he was speechless. He said he was embarrassed to accept it.
She told him it was a gift , why should he be embarrassed to receive a gift.
He then told her that he was never the kind of man to ask for help but he lost everything in Katrina and has nothing but an empty apartment.

Everyone in ear shot was crying. But not my mom. She just went on and she couldn't understand why everyone was making such a big deal over her .

Aww! You certainly have good reason to say what you did about your mom! She sounds like an amazing woman who doesn't let an opportunity to be kind pass her by. I'm so glad to hear you let her know how much you love her. No doubt that it means the world to her. My guess is that you had a very nice upbringing, and the apple never falls far from the tree either!

Enjoy your time together, and never stop telling her how much you love her. You're a fortunate lady, Ann! But I guess you already know that.

The quote in my signature sums it up to me. What she did means bunches to that man and to all those people who witnessed it, and like you, they will tell others. It means bunches and the feeling ripples through many. We all can touch lives daily.

The best part is she continues to be this way despite the fact that very few of the most important people in her life appreciate it.
