Is now on strike!!
Yes its true I am the lucky SAHM to my 3 DS and DH! Since everyone is ignoring me when I ask them to take care of THIER business-chores
I am striking and NOT doing mine! This is not fair!
I'll be on the picket line if anyone needs me!

striking is an option?????
I know exactly how you feel. I have threatened to go on strike for a few years now. The closest I came was being too sick to get out of bed and Old Man had to take care of things for a while.
I honestly think if I did go on all-out-strike... the house would be full of processed food and dirty socks. The dishes would be clean because they would use paper
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

If you live in a area where there is much traffic, pitch a tent on the front lawn and have a little, I'm on strike sign. Maybe it will embarass them with mom actually showing the world she won't take it any more

Realize that your how low can things go is not anywhere as low as theirs. My kids ate of paper plaets and then out of the cans.
They used their sock and wore shoes w/o them. On and On. I called the teacher and said "my kids are learning to do laundry,if they have dirty clothes feel free to comment to them. It all passes eventually.
I would suggest your best plan of attack is the social network.
"clean that up,cuz I would hate for you to be the only kid that doesn't get to go to the party.
"Go clean your laundry for school cuz no one will tell you you stink but they will discuss it when your not there"
It's rude to be so means to kids. But teens are people w/ broken brains that don't gel until much later.
My last resort is the laptop and comments about being out of the "loop".

You go girl!!!!

I would cook up some delish meal...........JUST FOR YOU.....don't even make enough for them..........wash just YOUR clothes...leave theirs totally alone!
At least put a "mother on strike" sign out on the lawn......and another BIG ONE on the door!
Keep us posted...........and good luck!

Good luck. I agree with the others. Put a sign on your lawn. Embarrass them. I can't wait to follow this and see how it goes. You may just start a movement! In fact, I just had the "you kids are so irresponsible" speech today. Hmmmmm, I might have to join you!

I've done this. They got their act together for a while then started slacking off again. I reminded them as needed and things were better. Good luck! Nobody likes being taken advantage of.

I personally do not agree with this method of dealing with the situation, but having never been in it, I do not really have much say. Will be interested to see how it goes.

I know that this wouldn't work in my house for a couple reasons, one being that Ava is only 2 and DH can be oblivious. Another reason is that I would go batty.
I guess with teenagers, it is a totally different situation, maybe it would work then.
Good luck! I hope it all works out for you.Working on Our Debt a Day at a Time:

Its going horrible!! I am a pansy! I feel like I chose this job (SAHM) so I need to do my job HOWEVER I refuse to do theirs as I usually do!! If the dishes sit there for DAYS and DAYS then so be it! Same with the poop out back and the trash! I just stay in my room away from everyone. Last night the kids were so mad they had to do their own dinners and no laundry was done for school today! I felt guilty last night I wont lie but DH sided with me. DS15 did his chores and was upset DS13 was to blame for this whole thing but DH said "well son we are a team and your team mate....screwed up"
