    I just do not get this it will get to the stage when there is just no choice and competion over here(u.k) at all ...

    Pretty sad, isn't it? I still refuse to shop at Walmart- I don't care what name they call it!

    Netto is the closet store to my flat, but I boycotted Walmart in the US and I'll boycott Netto/Asda here. Ugh!!! Thanks for posting this. I wouldn't have known otherwise.

    Asda have only bought UK Netto stores and they will all be rebranded as Asda by 2011, they have not (yet) purchased any other European stores.
