My hubby and I have always had high milage cars. If they are well maintained they last SOOOOOO long. I am talking 300k+miles on motor. We are lead to believe that at 100k you are in trouble but that is a load of crap. Mechanics try to tell me to change the oil filter and oil only every 3k miles but a tune up to us is that plus new air filter spark plugs makes a huge differance the motor and my hubby does it for about 50. Most of the things you spoke of only wear out after many years. So your anually cost will not be that. That was more like a fluke than the norm. I would keep it and enjoy it. Take care of it and you will be fine. New cars have way more trouble than any used one we have. My nissan xtera has 94k on it and I have had not ONe problem. Well that is a lie i did leave the cap for gas loose and had the engine light turn on. and when it contected to the machine it went away. But that was my fault and not the cars LOL.

After all you should know the reliability of your own vehicle....you're the one who's put all the miles on it
Libby you do make a good point. If I got the car dh wants the little bugger could not haul a thing. My full sized V6 I have now does.

I have 2 admit I am just a tad freaked out by the high miles. Jodi made a super good point though. The mechanic says 200K miles totally in range if you care for a car well so I'll just keep saving like you said. . Thanks!

Mek I can haul them with my current car unless we do the swap for the camper. I won't say I can't because I am sure I COULD learn but as of know I don't know how to do a thing to autos but add gas and fluids.
