    Default Earthquake

    We had an earthquake here today. The epicenter was in Quebec but we felt it here to. 5.5 No one was seriously injured, building damage and a bridge collapse near the centre. I was walking and thought I had lost my balance. Then someone goes did you feel that earthquake. On top of it we are under a severe thunderstorm watch and tornado watch tonight. Holy mackerel Mother Earth is sure giving us a run for our money today.

    Yeah, I felt it...I was at Tim Horton's with my dad, and a bunch of us looked around, and said "Did you feel that?" then went back to drinking our coffee. By the time I got back to my office, they had evacuated. LOL!

    A friend of mine who works in EMS said they thought initially that it might have been a security breach related to the G20!

    It could be worse. There could have been a giant sinkhole opening up and swallowing people whole, or it could have been a 9.0. A 5.0 isn't all that bad. People acted like the world was ending.

    I agree but I think people are talking about it so much because we don't get them often. I think the radio said we get a least one earthquake every 10 years or something that causes damage. I think the thing I heard today that made me laugh was a lady who said her cows were madly running around when it hit. All I could think of was she had mad cows. I don't know why I found that funny but I did.

    I heard about it and am glad you are okay! We had one in central Jersey today, but it didn't make it's way up to north Jersey, so I had to hear about it on the radio.

    I think so many people are buzzing about it, in general, is because there is a lot of natural disaster action lately, which seems to get everyone in a tizzy.

    Neither I nor my wife, who were each at work, felt anything, but many people between our workplaces did and we suspect our dogs did too, as they were a bit out of sorts when we got home.

    I am in a suburb north of Detroit and I felt it here but I didn't know what it was at the time. I wa in the grocery store and I felt a kind of vibration. I thought my phone was maybe on vibrate in my pocket. I looked at it and it was not even on vibrate and noone had called. I didnt think anymore about it until I got home and saw the news. Now they are calling for severe storms tonight. I guess Mother Nature is cranky.

    The earthquake was north of Ottawa in Quebec. What others felt was the aftershock.

    We felt the aftershock at work, they evacuated us from the building. They thought it was high wind causing the vibration at first. Once outside, I took out my iphone and typed in google "earthquake" low and behold,

    [ame=http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=earthquake&aq=f&aqi=g10&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=C1WmqF7QiTNPvKJaWMfmhxPkJAAAAqgQFT9DlLEY]earthquake - Google Search[/ame]

    it showed the earthquake in quebec. at the exact time we felt it!

    This is coming from the us earthquake watch programs.

    Everyone was impress I was able to point out what it was before the security team at work.

    Here is how far the earthquake reached and who felt it across US and Canada.

    WOW!! I am seriously out of the loop - I have been so busy this last week, I haven't heard a lick of news from anywhere...

    My hubby laughs at me, he says I get all my news from FV or FB. Yep, that's about it.

    An earthquake?? Weird.
