Default My boys & I just got back from blackcap picking...

I have been blackcap picking for 18 consecutive years now..My boys & I have been doing this as soon as they were old enough to pick them..it's a nice bonding time for us except when they start a fight with one another..LOL..I don't think that's ever going to change! Anyway we picked at least 15 cups or more so I soaked/drained them then put them in a pot with just enough water to cover added tons of sugar and patiently awaiting them to boil down to liquid then I will strain out the seeds using cheese cloth return the juice to the pot and make a slurry of cornstartch and water to thicken it.. I'm going to make homemade whipped cream to put on the top..my boys just love it..

    Do you blackcap pick too?

    Blackcaps
Not sure where any are right now, but if any get found, my son will make sure I make jam. Any other jam is only second best.
