Yes, I do remember seeing the commercial for them. All I could think was... WHAT????

I really like the towels and rags that I have.

This is exactly how disposable diapers got started - advertising is, after all, designed to CREATE 'NEED' !!

I think it's a good idea for people who have weak immune systems to keep them from getting sick. I imagine you're spending the same amount of money each month by rewashing rags and towels than you are spending on the disposable hand towels.

If I was sick a lot or had a disease where any germs made my condition worse, I'd be the first to buy them.

If it's a difference between me dying from a weak immune system infected by germs from someone else or the landfill, I'd pick the towels in a heartbeat. Besides, are they biodegradable? I haven't seen them here.

I can see the germ argument if someone truly is afflicted by a weak immune system, but for the general masses it seems like such a waste of perfectly good trees.

The first thing I blurted out when I saw the commercial on TV was "Well, somebody found yet another way to get our money from us!"

If it were marketed as a medical product and located up near the pharmacy in stores, I could go for the idea.

But ---I don't know --as a nurse, I'm thinking if I had a family member (or me) who had a compromised immune system, I would give them their own towel and the rest of the family would know better than to cross those boundaries and use it. I would give that person ALL of his own linens and towels and bleach them, and his would be separate at all times.

But I can see where this might not happen in all households. So--these towels would be good if touted as medical.

I don't see a difference between them or papertowels. They aren't something I would buy all the time. But, if we were having a big cookout or a party and planned on having tons of people here, I'd buy them. I certainly don't want to use the towel after other people do (immediate family excluding) and I wouldn't expect them too.

I think if buying paper towels are within your budget and something you want to do then have at it.

People are all different and have their own unique situations within their homes and lives.

I don't think they are crazy or stupid or even wasteful(within normal boundaries).

I know some would look at my life and judge without even knowing why I chose to do what I do. They would only see money being spent in places they would chose not to spend money. It isn't all black and white, there are a whole lot of gray areas in life.

Let me tell ya... if they had these back when I was doing in-home agency nursing I would be the first in line when they sold these!

You can't use a client's hand towels... and wrestling with a roll of paper towels was a nightmare. I had to unroll and separate the roll and put them in a ziploc.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Uh-oh...I planned on buying them for a huge BBQ we are having in August.

Guess that puts me on the wasteful list and I am happy to be there, LOL! Well worth the money to me.

I hate having a bunch of people using one towel in my bathroom ~ gives me the creeps. If it was all family, I wouldn't mind. It's not. Would I use them every day ~ nope.
