does everyone have off today ?
my company is open so i am off to work - luckily i make my own schedule so i should be done by noon - but alot of companies in the same field ( health care ) are getting time and a half for today. So thats a bit of a bummer !
I also worked the weekend and the real holiday which i wasnt aware i was scheduled to do - so really looking fwd to a day off !!
my husbands company is closed today and they rarely do anything more than they have to .*~Debbi~*

I'm guessing that depends a lot on where you work. DH will be working today, so will DS1.

The library is open today, though it's actually a facility holiday. I'm working the day shift alone, 7:30-4:00, and have two student workers covering the 4-11. The rest of the staff is off. I basically keeping the doors open for the handful of people who are here.

Hubby is off, which totally suprised me. He's in the ag industry, and this is the middle of the season, but the company is closed today. In the past he would have gone out to work anyway, but lately he has been trying to not work as hard as he used to. I LOVE THAT!!

I'm off today....Holiday for me....and I'm already bored to tears
DH is working today even though it's considered a holiday at his workplace.....but who can turn down 2 1/2 times your regular pay if you volunteer to work a holiday!
He also works a part-time job in addition to his FT one and if he worked it, he received an additional $2.50/hr! Hard to turn down holiday pay like that."We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen; For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

I have to work a couple of hours interviewing a cancer survivor for our Relay for Life series. But otherwise I have the day off.

Well, since I decided to quit working six years ago, I am off today.
DH is the Director of Accounting (he's a CPA) for an insurance company and they have the day off. His company is huge (second largest employer in our state) and they only close the doors seven days each year - New Year's, Memorial Day, the 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after and Christmas day.
He's salaried so his pay is not affected.DD (19)

Am I the only one who sees the weirdness in being given a day off on Monday when the actual holiday was yesterday?
DH had Canada Day off, but had to work the next day. Canada Day was Thursday.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!
