Default Anyone ever hear of Ringing Rocks?

We're going to take the kids there when the leaves change color this year.

Went there years ago. My boyfriend at the time was an engineer so he really found it interesting. Remember to bring a hammer when you go.

The area is really pretty plus if you go when the trees are changing should be quite the drive.

Been to Ring Rocks many times as a kid. My parents had friends that lived in the area. Still don't live to far from it.

Remember to take hammer. Wear sneakers or hiking boots. If you have problems walking or climbing it isn't the place for you. It isn't a place for small children. Remember you are out in the woods and rocks. There are snakes and lots of bugs.

    Have a great time.

    Charlotte,

We are just a hop, skip and a jump from Ringing Rocks. There is one closer to us, but it does not have a waterfall.

I don't plan on doing much except watching the boys, husband included bang on the rocks. So it should be okay as far as walking is concerned, thanks! I figured I'd pack a picnic lunch, a few blankets, a folding chair and we'd be good to go.

We are not much for any activities done in the dead of Summer. The only activities we do in Summer is caves. Lots of caves in PA. We have taken trips to see certain things like The Rosemary House. That was a long trip, whew!

    Rocks? Did someone say rocks??

Being a geologist, I have a strange fondness for rocks. Too bad this is so far from Colorado or I'd love to check it out.

Ahh, my DS1 LOVES rocks too! His pockets were always filled with his treasures. He had planned/still plans on getting GIA certified. He wants to be a manager a jewelery store.

There are several of these ringing rock formations in PA. We do have one just down the road but like I said, it does not have a waterfall.

We also have St.Peters Village just down the road from us also. An awesome place to take the kids and find fossils. According to Native Americans that lived here (many moons ago) there was a mountain brought down by an earthquake, and all the boulders were thrown into the waters. Very pretty!

HERE"S A GREAT WEBSITE ABOUT ST. PETERS VILLAGE

Saint Peters Village, Warwick Township, Chester County, Saint Peters PA 19470

As you can see it beautiful here. People never want to leave, they grow up here, buy homes here, raise their kids here, and then their kids do the same. I don't think anything could make people budge from this area.

Sounds fun! Love seeing the leaves change, and both Pennsylvania and New Jersey are absolutely gorgeous at that time of year!

Last time I was at the Ring Rocks there where picnic tables next to the parking lot.

Hope you got to go with the family. Now that the weather has cooled off it is a great time to be outdoors.
