    Default I'm back again.....

I haven't posted for quite awhile and I am so glad to "see" everyone again. My ds 7 yrs old has Aspergers and adhd. We had alot of issues to deal with and are finally getting settled in again. He had some major anxiety at the end of the school year. But we are now seeing a psychiatrist for meds, a psychologist for a new evaluation and he has a great counselor for social skills. Whew!

Over the last year and a half dh and I have paid off every credit card. We owe a dentist bill and a hospital bill. We will soon have no debt except our mortgage.

Our house was too small for our family and we could't decide whether to buy a bigger house and get into a 30 yr mortgage or to refinance our existing home for a lower rate and add on a bedroom / bathroom. Our home is only two bedroom and we have 2 kids (7 and 14) who cannot share a room. Ds 7 has been in a small room the size of a walk in closet (well, a little bigger) that you enter from my room. It worked great as a nursery......

All of the 3 bedroom homes we looked at were just too expensive and the only way we could afford them would be a 30 yr mortgage.

So we refinanced for 15 yrs ( we owed 16 yrs on this house) and got enough money to build an addition. For us it's a win-win situation. Our monthly payments only went up $100 , we still pay off our home in the time we originally planned and we get the space we need.

The decision is made so I hope no one will scold me about this. It works for us. I am so proud of us for paying off most of our debt in so little time. We couldn't have done it with out all of my frugal village friends. I have learned so much here. Thank you!!!!
