Spa Day with 9 year old........
I'm planning a Spa Day with my 9 year old granddaughter. It will all be home grown. Was thinking of giving each other facials, manicures and pedicures. Maybe doing hair. Want to conclude by going out for afternoon tea. Any other ideas? She is such a girly-girl and I thinik she will really enjoy this.

I don't have any other ideas, but I love the idea of a spa day with your grand daughter.

How about dressing up when you go out for tea, take a picture to mark the occasion and decorate a frame (dollar store) to put it the picture in.
Wonderful memory making idea, you gals have fun!~*Darlene*~

Take a picture of her w/ a piece of her favorite jewelry on that you own and give it to her. In your will leave it to her.
I have a picture of my great gram on her wedding day wearing the same broach i wore on mine. The piece is over a century old but the picture is my prize.

Here's what we did:
Had a soup and sandwich lunch. Then we made a killer dessert. Actually she made it. I bought pre-formed tart-sized phyllo shells. She put 3 chocolate chips in each one and we baked them until the chocolate got soft. Then she smoothed it out with a spoon to make a chocolate layer on the bottom the shell. After it cooled, she squirted a dollop of whipped cream in each, and then topped it with a slice of banana, a slice of strawberry and a blueberry. She was able to do all steps herself. And then we ate them all!
After that, I did her nails. Then we gave each other facials.
Finally it was time to go to the coffee shop. She had played coffee shop in the bath tub for years, but had never actually been to one. So we went to a little bistro style shop. I had an iced coffee while she had Italian ice. We sat and chatted as we sipped and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Didn't have anyother clothes for her to dress up in, and it wasn't tea, but we'll save that for another day. And I did give her some jewelry (thanks for the suggestion), and I did take her picture (thanks for that suggestion, too). All in all, a very successful afternoon together! We will just wait for another time to dress up and have tea.Spiritual:

I am so glad it all worked out and it was a memorable time. My 20 year old still talks about going to Dgrandas house and going through her jewelry. Funny, now she makes jewelry and teaches classes at Joannes Fabric in jewely making.

Sounds like fun. Maybe you can also let her wear a "fancy" necklace, earings, rings for tea time.
