I bought a car with CASH!!!!
My dh's Jeep finally died last week. We have been babying it for the last 2 years prolonging the need for a newer car. However, the time finally came that we had to put her down!
I found the perfect car for my dh. It's 10 years old but in excellent condition with low miles. He love's it! The best thing was that I paid for it with cash. No financing, no credit checks, no negotiating interest rates. Wrote them a check for the entire purchase!!!! Of course now we have no EF but it won't take me long to replenish it once school starts in September and I start earning money again.
If we hadn't changed our way of living a few years ago and adopted DR's plan, we would have never been able to do this. I told my dh that I would never have a car payment again. Cash is the only way to go! With any luck, my car should last another 5 -7 years. When it finally needs to be replaced, I will buy a used car with cash again. I don't forsee us ever buying a brand new car again!
I feel so good. Dh's happy with his car and I'm happy with no payments! Life is good!Live - Laugh - Love
2012 Goals:
1. Build up EF.
2. Lose weight.
3. Quit smoking.
4. Stay within my monthly budget.
5. Continue paying down debt.

I don't like new.. My 93 Bonneville has been a great car sense we bought it in 97 and we love it... We rent cars when we take trips, so I get to try out and play with all the new models, but don't have any interest in owning one.. We paid $600 for an early 90's olds and loved that car till someone ran in to our son and totaled it..
