looking at layoffs where DH works
Argh! It's always when you least expect it.
DH comes home from work today and says they have a new manager from the California HQ and he is a real hard@$$. Word is he is going to lay off one or more people in the office. He was also asking how much they pay in rent here, like he thought their building was too expensive.

hopefully the guy let that idea leak just to put a scare into everyone .
my dhs bosses kind of do that before raise time
they also make any health insurance changes which usually = people paying more into it and then a few weeks later give any raises ( which usually just cover the health insurance raise )
its a mind game they play in my opinion people wont complain about having a insurance hike and no real raise in their pocket if they feel they need to be happy to even have a job .*~Debbi~*

Hopefully it won't be your dh who is let go if anyone is. My dh's company just moved their plant to a new building and got a new assistant boss who everyone hates! I will be praying that it works out for you!

We're still hanging in limbo, as well. It's almost the end of the week and we have no idea what the other company is doing as far as where it'll be located come October. It wouldn't be so bad if we were renting here. However, since we own the house and have a ton of fixes to do to it, it makes it worse the longer that we wait.
I find it's best not to worry about things until they happen.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. New bosses always shake things up sometimes for the better , sometimes not.

I know exactly what your going through. I was laid off almost 16 months ago and can count the interviews I've had on 2 hands. And now word is going around my other-half's office too that they are looking to lay more people off after the holidays. Things are REAL bad out there despite what some talking heads are saying to the contrary.

Are they saying anything about when this could happen?
Hopefully he's just being a jerk and he'll leave things as is. But I've been in your position. My dh was laid about 5 yrs ago and it lasted 18 months. This last time it was just before Christmas in 2009, and this time around it last 3.5 months.
The unknown can be very scary and worrisome. Hang in there, and let us know what happens. We are all thinking of you and hoping and praying for the best."We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen; For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

We don't know when it will happen, other than "possibly soon". Maybe next week. The guy goes back to the home office today. DH has already started sending out feelers for a new job, just in case.

I'm so sorry - I do hope that your dh's job will be safe. I remember when my dh lost his job...it was such a scary feeling. Being an Army "brat" I'd never experienced anything like that while growing up.

I'm sorry you have to go through the waiting game. It is awful not knowing what is going to happen. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
